Both points are very true.

Myn has made good on his promise and has started developing for the SGS III. His first ROM over there is a JB port that is still a little rough but he appears to be well on his way. EDIT: link ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853348

Meanwhile there is *no* reason for OG Evo users to feel short changed - I can't believe the quantity and quality of choices, new and old, available to us. Frankly this ROM runs fine as is, no "refresh" needed.

Either way, don't expect myn to come back and do the refreshing: one of us will have to take up the challenge.

As this ROM now uses the latest official HTC Kernel (#15) you MUST update your Radio/Wimax. I recommend Calkulin's combo update which is available here or via direct download here.

        Installation Instructions:
        1. Download Rom and Radio/Wimax updates and place in the root of SDCard.
        2. Reboot into Recovery.
        3. Perform Nandroid backup
        4. Minimally wipe dalvik and cache. For optimal experience, perform full wipe (data/dalvik/cache).
        5. Flash the rom first.
        6. Then the radio/wimax update. While the radios are flashing you'll see a little green arrow phone icon for a bit afterwords, Wait on this. You will then automatically be taken back to recovery.
        7. Once back in recovery, reboot.
        8. Enjoy :)

    (1gr8ftoy also maintains a mini-faq here.)
    • Q: I've applied the transparent titlebar mod and am running Launcher Pro but the titlebar isn't transparent?
A: At this time, this is currently a limitation of Launcher Pro.

    • Q: What's the best kernel?
A: As ever device is built differently with different thresholds for undervolting the best option is to try each one with your phone. What may work well for one persons phone, may not be ideal for yours. You can start with the recommended kernels listed in post #1. If you'd like to learn more about what CFS/BFS/HAVS means here is a great reference on this.

    • Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in WarmUpdater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.

    • Q: Sometimes after I flash a new rom my Market downloads stall. Is there a fix?
      A: Please see this.

    • Q: When I apply an update through WarmUpdater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's 1.8 recovery which can be installed through RomManager or downloaded and installed manually from Amon_RA's thread.

    • Q: How do I install your Swype theme?
A: The method documented here has proven to have repeatable results. A video by transitoyspace is also available here.

    • Q: How do I enable and configure APPS2SD?
A: Use this well documented method here.

    • Q: I am looking for a particular file that I am sure has been posted before in this thread. How can I easily find it in this huge thread?
A: In your web browser click on the paper clip next to this thread on the index page of "EVO 4G Android Development". A list of all of the threads attachments will be presented.

    • Q: Do you have any tips on conserving battery life?
A: See this great EVO Battery Saving Tips thread here.

    • Q: How do I run older official HTC kernels (eg HTC #17) in RLS5 and beyond?
A: Follow the instructions in this post.

    • Q: I am getting a "Package file was not signed correctly" when I flash the update files?
A: Toggle signature verifications within recovery before flashing, Disabling signature verification.

    • Q: How do I disable the Swype OTA so I can run a beta version instead?
A: Follow the instructions in this post or this post.

    • Q: How do I become a beta tester?
      A: See this post here.

Flash the one you want... Enjoy
For all of those non-sensers out there - Warm NonSense!

Something I've been monkeying around with, and it's mostly tailored to me, but I thought it might benefit others. I'm not a fan of Rosie/Sense in general, but am of LP & ADW EX. This zip (which is based on RemoveSense from Calk) is meant to be flashed in recovery, right after flashing rls5 (though might/should work on rls4).

    What you get:
    - Warm-Themed Launcher Pro
    - Gingerbread IME (via @PeterAlfonso)
    - More Space on your device (around 350m free on rls5)!

    What you lose:
    - Adobe Reader
    - App Sharing
    - Stock app
    - Car Panel
    - HTC_IME (almost 8M!)
    - Sense (Rosie & associated widgets)
    - Some wallpapers
    - Rss app / syncing
    - Teeter

    Feedback/mods/requests welcomed - enjoy mynions! ;)

EDIT: 12/31 - Thanks Myn for featuring on post2, added themed Launcher Pro, keeping rom manager as of #2 as clockwork is being developed with us Evo users in mind!
EDIT: 01/02 - This should work in either recovery, as I started with Edify from the beginning :D
EDIT: 01/07 - I've had some requests recently for the facebook syncing to be left in, so I've whipped up a zip for you guys to add it back in!
EDIT: 01/14 - Thanks to mpetruzz for finding an error in my re-adding of Facebook/Twitter.
EDIT : 01/21 - Thanks to barnacles10 for running into the same issue I've been having with the facebook syncing, but having the time to figure it out before me :) Going forward, you only need #5 if you're on a fresh install (the social zip is only for those who didn't flash #5 to start with). Flash social #3 if you've already installed to get the syncing to work properly. Those of you who've flashed social #2 can remove the facebook/twitter apps if you don't use them (they should be uninstallable from the Market or Settings->Applications). Thanks for your patience with this issue!
