Where'd you go to high school?
Hello,
Problem when I want upgrade this #023 with a dirty flash, I've this error message.

I must do a full wipe ?
When I tried installing, I had similar issues where I was getting mount errors for /system, /cache, etc.

No idea if this will make a difference for you or not, however I wonder what size sd card you're using. Whenever I try using my 128GB San Disk, I have trouble flashing ROMs on both my HTC 10 and ASUS TF701T. When I use my 16GB Samsung sd card, I have no issues. I have a 128GB card for each device, so I am not using the same one on both. Maybe it's the format of the sd card as my 16GB is FAT, and my 128GB cards are not. My HTC 10 is on 7.0 and I'm running this 7.1.2 on my TF701T.

Like I said, this may not make a difference for you, I just know it made a difference for me. Some people might say it should not make a difference, but it does for me. Maybe try a smaller sd card size formatted as FAT???

ETA: and you'll still need a full wipe according to the directions. When I did mine, I started it from the power+vol down method instead of going in directly through TWRP. This method still took me into TWRP, just a different route which ended up working out for me.

No need to full wipe,
just format /system to ext3
then back to ext4
Then flash rom + supersu + gapps again.
Basically getting the same error as [email protected] but instead of a dirty flash from 7.x, I did a full wipe of 6.0.1. That error message was the result after several attempts at flashing the rom. And yes I tried changing the /system to ext3 then back to ext4 with no success. I did the same with /data as recommended in the install section. No luck. Same error message. http://imgur.com/a/qq9aY Any thoughts on the cause? Using TWRP 2.8.1.1 - outdated maybe and need to upgrade? Never had this error before and not sure how to proceed. Any help?

Hi Tim,

No pressure, just wondering when a possible ETA on ver 024 might be? The "Enable power save config of system apps and gms doze" in the changelog sounds like it may resolve some battery issues... :)

Thanks, as always

New Version #024

New rom version available: KatKiss-7.1_TF701T_024.zip

Note that apps are going to get optimized in the background after the upgrade and first boot into android,
so better wait and let the tablet settle down for a while.

Changelog:

- Update to July Nougat Release
- Update to June Nougat Release
- Browser: don't limit number of tabs
- Enable power save config of system apps and gms doze (Settings => Battery => Battery optimization to add gms)
- Ukrainian: synch with EN resources

@timduru this ROM is simply amazing. Thank you.
Anyone else having issues with print spooler crashing when trying to print something, i.e. when trying to create a pdf from a web page in chrome?

@GrouchyPunisher did you install the latest update and does it resolve the battery issues? I'm on older 19th version and do not have any battery issues, so I don't want to risk and update unless sure it's not there.
I did install it and it did not help. I have terrible battery drain with KatKiss, I hate to say. It seems to get worse after 24 hours of uptime. If I reboot it stays stable for a bit, but the longer uptime, the faster it drains. :(

I went back to a Nandroid backup of @sbdags KitKat CROMi-X 7.1 r2 build to make sure my battery was not the culprit, and it is not.

That is bad and the fact timduru keeps quiet about it is not good either. It must be a regression since in v. 19 of this rom, I'm not facing such problems. So just use an older build of KatKiss to enjoy the nougat

@sibs says in this post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72201944&postcount=144) that it is the miscellaneous process that takes most of the drain away. Is that the same with you @GrouchyPunisher ? If yes, are there logs that can be provided that show what the miscellaneous process is/are and track this down? I like the idea of "no logs, no bug" especially when the rom maker cannot reproduce it, but this is a custom rom, aren't you curious @timduru ?

Running #023, battery life is excellent

I have a pretty stripped-down set of apps - a few reading apps, a dictionary, chrome, a terminal app, etc. No facebook, twitter, email client, messaging client, etc. I also don't have any "miscellaneous" process(es) running, so predictably my battery usage is really good. Maybe it's worthwhile boiling down specifically what those miscellaneous processes are?

For example, does running

Code:
top -m 20 -s cpu
(as root) show anything interesting?

Hi timduru, I can't get my SD Card working correctly. No matter if formatting it as mobile or internal, Chrome app can't download any files and claims "No SD card found to store...". The same with the Aquamail app, but here changing the download location to the internal formatted SD-Card makes the whole tablet freeze, the screen is frozen and no reaction anymore. Last line from logcat:
Code:
08-13 20:20:28.794 1608 1608 I rm_ts_server: type=1400 audit(0.0:307): avc: denied { read } for scontext=u:r:init:s0 tcontext=u:r:init:s0 tclass=netlink_kobject_uevent_socket permissive=1
Then I can only hard reset the device. However after starting, the SD-Card seems to be mounted correclty:
Code:
tf701t:/ # df -h /storage/self/primary/
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/fuse 59G 518M 58G 1% /storage/emulated
Have you tested internal mounted (adopted) SD cards?

With adopted SD card, the system is crashing radomly.
