As I remember, I downloaded latest twrp IMG directly from twrp.

Thank you! I will give this a try. Actually I have a boot-looping twrp, but before I already tried with a TWRP > 3.x - the same problem...

I am not sure of the terminology used in this specific task. But as far as I remember TWRP is not the bootloader?!
Which bootloader are you using?
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Otto

God's Waiting Room - Florida
Greetings,

Knowing that this thread is a bit old, hoping I can get a little help. TIA.

Just got 2 Transformer Prime TF201's and decided to play around with them. I got the bootloader unlocked, rooted and the JellyBean TWRP installed. I put the ROM on an SD card, tried to install and it failed. Here's what it says:

ApplyParsedPerms: lsetfilecon of /syste,/lost+found to u:eek:bject_r:system_file:s0 failed Operation not supported on transpo (cut off here) set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /external_sdcard/KatKiss-7.1_TF201_039.zip (status 7)
Error flashing zip '/external_sdcard/KatKiss-7.1_TF201_039.zip

Sounds like it's something with the file. Thinking I'll download it again and copy it to the SD card and try again.

Problem with USB mouse

Hi!

I used this thread and was able to use my device again! Thank you! :highfive:
I only have one problem that I couldn't resolve during the last 3 months. I can't use my USB mouse with TF201 anymore. Is there any solution for this?

Any suggestion is appreciated :)

Yesterday I was bored and decided to try to fix my bricked Prime, that I bricked a couple of years ago. Finally I was able to install this:
twrp-3.2.3-0_KANG-tf201t.img
KatKiss-7.1_TF201_039.zip

So far so good. I had a problem on the first boot with the Initial config app, that was crashing when I selected start from scratch or restore. Then I enabled Wifi (odd that the icon is the same with wifi enabled or disabled) and then I was able to continue.

Thanks for this ROM!! Will try to use this tablet that I love a little longer before I switch to a newer one.

Just out of interest, which bootloader do you have?

Prime reprimed

I came back to this old and potentially useful tablet recently. I had it running the latest #39 Katkiss with Gapps but it was still slow. While searching online to see if anyone had managed to put a lightweight Linux OS onto it, Gentoo seems possible when I've some time, I thought I'd try resinstalling Katkiss without Gapps. MUCH better. F-Droid gives me enough functionality to make the tablet useful. In addition, boot and shutdown are much quicker, battery life has also improved.

Good to know.
I'm prepping to do my TF Prime soon. Just did my friends' Transformer Tab; much improved as well.

I have KatKiss-7.1_TF201_024.zip. I thought I had gotten the latest, but maybe they kept going after that. Do you want the one I have? I have to warn you it ran slow as hell on my TF201.

Does anyone have a copy of KatKiss-7.1_TF201_039.zip somewhere? or whatever the latest was .. XDA killed devdb and with it so many essential files for these legacy devices. :(

Yep, I do... Installed it somewhat recently... Working well. Bit sluggish at times, but world's apart from factory.

If no one hooks u up by the time I get home, I'll get u a link.

As i understand, you have to unlock the bootloader to flash TWRP on the device. For unlocking there was an Asus APP. ist this app still available ad fuctional? Did someone do this recently with success? Otherwise, these niche tablets are just litter ...
