So guys I know it's wrong to ask ETAs, but how long do you think it'll take before we see Android 8.0 roms for Nexus 6 popping out on here? Mind you I'm not asking about PN 8.0 rom
Someone always pushes one out really fast and full of fail...

But... My guess would be about a week

my n6 is encrypted, will I need to do anything for that matter?
meanwhile I restore Chrome 6.0.1 to load twrp 3.1
what I'll need to do for f2fs to not loose internal storage data / media? which partition to convert to f2fs? just /system ?

thanks for education

Since you are coming from a non-PN ROM (and a 6.0 one at that), you NEED to do a full wipe of the phone as stated on the first page:

Which path do I choose? Clean install or dirty flash?
CLICK TO HIDE CONTENT

Dirty flash: If you are already on a Pure Nexus official build AND NOT flashing across Android versions (6.x.x to 7.x.x). Please check the update post linked about though. This keeps your apps and their data intact.
Clean install: When you have problems with dirty flashing, when coming from another custom ROM, stock Android, a personal Pure Nexus build, OR when required (check the update post).

Always do a clean install before reporting issues

In regards to the 7.1.1 update notification - for me personally, I found that by disabling Automatic Updates in the developer options wasn't enough. I had to go into Settings > Notifications tap on Google Play Services, turn on Block all notifications, and then turn it back off again. This removed the update notification.

Hope that makes sense. :)

It will come back. The only permanent solution so far is to use MyAndroidTools to disable the SystemUpdateServiceActiveReceiver broadcast receiver in Google Play Services as suggested by @rignfool.

If you know your way around sdmaid you can also turn off the boot receiver for "SystemUpdateServiceActiveReceiver broadcast"

I'm having another problem - I couldn't get rid of that update notification so I decided to flash the newest version of Pure Nexus. So far I've had multiple clean installations of 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 loop the loading screen for 30+ minutes. Is there something that I'm missing with installing N roms?

I get that it's targeted towards 64-bit devices, but you can compile a rom from the source code at least that's what I was lead to believe

Correct. The Android source code is plain text and it becomes 32bit or 64bit once compiled in which case, it could, assuming you had everything else needed, run on a 32bit device.

BUT... you need more than just the Android source; a lot of which is closed source and may only be released for specific devices AND only in 64bit.

What TWRP and bootloader versions? They both need to be the newest.

    a couple things to note:
*not all mods from marshmallow will be in the first build so be patient as i add your favorite mods, etc!
*as of right now the rom only has substratum legacy support. will update to full blown substratum as the stability increases for N!
*changelog doesnt display anything for this first build as all changes are listed on github/xda op, changelog will be back next release!
