With clean install of (crDroidAndroid-7.1.2-20180621-n7100-v3.8.8.zip), lots of force stop messages for Google service framework, calendar, contacts storage.
And the phone is waiting for me to insert the SIM Card lol.

I'm using open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180630

Real a clean install with data and system and cache and dalvik wipe?
And you need to install gapps after installing ROM.
No restart between!

It's a problem with the selinux contexts. Setting selinux to permissive may fix the problem. You can flash hybrid kernel or koffee(hybrid available in XDA) which sets selinux to permissive by default to check if it works. Remember to do a clean flash

You come from stock right? If flashing hybrid kernel doesn't help you, you should flash other rom and boot it once, then come back to crdroid, the force close will definitely be gone. I just encountered this so I can tell for sure.

I had similar problem, with the last months roms. So need to clean install the May's Rom. Will check the with the suggestion of ishtiak02 about the flash hybrid kernel & sets selinux to permissive. I never installed the hybrid kernel where would i get the procedure to do it?

Yes, I come from stock. But I tried installing [7.12_r36]Resurrection Remix V5.8.5 and it booted successfully.
Anyways, thanks for that, I'll try installing RR again and then try clean install for CRDroid again.
Much appreciated.

Just flash it after flashing ROM and gapps

I found a small bug in this impressive ROM.

The battery indicator on lock screen shows always the last value before locking, it's frozen.

So, if you open the lock screen after a few hours, you will not see the real battery.

no such thing happened at mine. It is displaying the correct battery percentage. You can try deleting the batterystats.bin file to calibrate battery related assumption. :)

OK, after two weeks playing with this excellent ROM and after using for five and a half years stock/official or stock based/custom ROMs, I want to share with you a few comments/remarks:

1) The shock of no unread messages notification for ROM's launcher is huge.

No SMS, Viber, Facebook, Gmail, Tapatalk etc.

How is it possible for pure Android/AOSP/CyanogenMod/LineageOS based ROMs of not including a launcher with unread notifications ?

BTW, I haven't solved this yet.

2) Bluetooth v3.0 headset Plantronics with A2DP and both headset and handsfree profiles, is invisible for this ROM.

It simply doesn't show up in Bluetooth devices during search.

Stock based 4.4.x ROMs had this problem too but a custom stock based 4.4.x ROM was able to pair it and use it as both headset and handsfree.

How come a Nougat 7.1.2 ROM isn't capable of seeing it ?

Note II is a Bluetooth v4.0 capable phone.

3) No built-in phone call recording (commonly present in stock based custom ROMs)

4) The multi-app or split-screen feature of Nougat and this ROM is vastly inferior to even 4.1.1 Samsung proprietary multi-app feature.

Using stock based custom ROMs, I could easily select almost ANY app from a left-sided list and add it conveniently to an already open app splitting screen in half.

Then, I could also resize the window of each open app.

5) Smart gestures like flip phone = mute during phone call or easy screenshot are obviously missing.

BTW, which is the easiest way to take a screenshot with this ROM ?

6) The ROM is missing a loudspeaker patch for louder speakerphone.

7) The WiFi speed is a little strange.

It starts downloading slowly, but then reaches a decent speed.

I used to have that maximum speed from the beginning.

8) The functionality of this ROM changes in a lot of aspects depending on the gapps package installed.

If I select gapps-mini I see different choices regarding various settings of this ROM compared to gapps-aroma, for example.

I mean different settings in Control Panel of Android itself not crDroid custom settings or different packages installed.

9) After charging battery at 100% I have a rapid consumption of around 10% in just 10 minutes with black screen and no open app!

If I use the phone after full charge instead of leaving it with black screen, the battery consumption is much lower!

Could someone explain this ?

10) Does the battery indicator say the truth that is fully charged when it shows 100% or do I have to leave it charging for more time ?

Thanks in advance for any replies !

P.S

After numerous formats and many hours playing with different settings, the lock screen is properly displaying battery left and I can't reproduce the bug mentioned before.

1. Use nova launcher with Tesla unread(Google it if you want more details)
2. Don't know
3. It's not available for most AOSP/lineage based ROMs because you can always use third party recorders
4. That's how AOSP/lineage etc based ROMs are
5. Vol down+power button. There's a notification bar shortcut as well
6. First of all use ainur sauron soundmod to improve sound quality. Secondly, use a root explorer and go to system/etc/sound/to3g and edit the volumes(this can be done without the sound mod as well. Sound mod is only for improving sound quality)
7. Not sure, it can occur probably because Crdroid's default TCP congestion algorithm is cubic. Stock probably uses Westwood as default. You can use Westwood and check out
8. Can you please describe bit more like what type of functionality changes ? It's not clear enough
9. Do you have latest modem and BL ? Latest modem is bit more battery friendly than previous ones. You should wait a few charge cycles to take decision about battery life. And most importantly, this ROM or any nougat rom based on AOSP/lineage doesn't have battery life like stock or kk roms
10. If should. If you are not sure you can try clearing battery stats and reboot

9) I had the same issue (battery drain, 8% per hour when not using the phone). I think that I resolve this issue by installing retrokernel in place of hybrid or kofee kernel.

After reading yesterday half of this thread and the other half today, I have some more comments to make and some more replies to give.

Please, be prepared to read a huge post !

I have to say that I use latest BL (XXSFQE2) from latest Sri Lanka's firmware and latest CP (XXUFNG1) from latest Greece's firmware with stock (crDroid v3.8.8) kernel.

1) The shock of no unread messages notification for ROM's launcher is huge.
1. Use nova launcher with Tesla unread(Google it if you want more details)
As I wrote here:
1) Lawn chair launcher didn't work for me regarding notifications.
Maybe I have to put Nova launcher.
But I really think that developers could try a workaround regarding that functionality, as it is very useful I think.
I used Nova launcher with Tesla Unread, but with one little detail.
It was a built-in ROM's feature.
I tried downloading the Google Play version of Nova launcher and it didn't give me the option to use Tesla Unread for the unread messages.

I will provide the mentioned ROM, if the developer is so kind to put it inside his ROM.

2) Bluetooth v3.0 headset Plantronics with A2DP and both headset and handsfree profiles, is invisible for this ROM.
2. Don't know
@transi1
I can send you the link to download the custom stock based ROM with the Bluetooth stack inside which is capable of recognizing my Bluetooth headset/ hands-free.

3) No built-in phone call recording (commonly present in stock based custom ROMs)
3. It's not available for most AOSP/lineage based ROMs because you can always use third party recorders.
OK, thanks.

4) The multi-app or split-screen feature of Nougat and this ROM is vastly inferior to even 4.1.1 Samsung proprietary multi-app feature.
4. That's how AOSP/lineage etc based ROMs are.
OK, thanks.

5) Smart gestures like flip phone = mute during phone call or easy screenshot are obviously missing.
BTW, which is the easiest way to take a screenshot with this ROM ?
5. Vol down+power button. There's a notification bar shortcut as well.
Thank you, it works.

6) The ROM is missing a loudspeaker patch for louder speakerphone.
6. First of all use ainur sauron soundmod to improve sound quality. Secondly, use a root explorer and go to system/etc/sound/to3g and edit the volumes(this can be done without the sound mod as well. Sound mod is only for improving sound quality)
After reading the thread I found these instructions:
Open the root folder.
Then \system\etc\sound

In this folder there is only one file.
At me it is called "t03g", but it can have a different name.
Open it as text file with a TextEditor.

Find the line <device name="speaker">
Find the lines below this and make 2 changes.
Change in the line "AIF1 Boost Volume" val= "1" or "2" (by default = "0")
Change in the line "Speaker Volume" val = "63" (by default = "57" or "59")
Don't try a greater value than this.
Save changes.
Reboot the device.
Same for headset, but with lower value like "60" or "61"

Regarding sound quality I read about Sauron+JamesDSP mod and viper4android from here http://downloadmirror.co/2zYA/ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip which is probably the best.
I'll try them.

7) The WiFi speed is a little strange.
7. Not sure, it can occur probably because Crdroid's default TCP congestion algorithm is cubic. Stock probably uses Westwood as default. You can use Westwood and check out.
Yes, I read that here and downloaded Kernel Adiutor in order to change it to Westwood.
I think it's slightly faster.

But I see on every boot a Kernel Adiutor notification regarding that applied change in kernel.
Is there a way to avoid that notification or make the change permanent ? (save it to kernel ? )

8) The functionality of this ROM changes in a lot of aspects depending on the gapps package installed.
8. Can you please describe bit more like what type of functionality changes ? It's not clear enough.
For example, the keyboards are different and I can't choose the simplified keyboard version of mini package using aroma package.
The keyboard of aroma package is too complicated.

Also the spelling is different, but this time aroma package is better.

9) After charging battery at 100% I have a rapid consumption of around 10% in just 10 minutes with black screen and no open app!
9. Do you have latest modem and BL ? Latest modem is bit more battery friendly than previous ones. You should wait a few charge cycles to take decision about battery life. And most importantly, this ROM or any nougat rom based on AOSP/lineage doesn't have battery life like stock or kk roms
Yes, both BL and CP are latest as I wrote in the beginning of this post.

I noticed today that after leaving the battery to 44% to go to sleep, when I woke up the battery left was 44% (!) without closing any background task, only running apps.

I could call that the 8th wonder of the world, I have never seen anything like that before in any previous ROM - not even stock.

But again, after full charging the battery to 100%, it lost the first 10% in a very rapid way without doing anything.

After that loss, the battery behaves very well.
I have no explanation.

10) Does the battery indicator say the truth that is fully charged when it shows 100% or do I have to leave it charging for more time ?
10. It should. If you are not sure you cab try clearing battery stats and reboot
You can try deleting the batterystats.bin file to calibrate battery related assumption. :)
What is the path of batterystats.bin file ?
When is the best time to delete this file, when battery is 0% or 100% or a different value ?

Some replies to various questions asked here:

When phone receives incoming call in sleep mode, it starts ringing and vibrating but dialer interface is displayed after 10 seconds or even more which makes accepting calls very uncomfortable. Does anybody have such issue also?
Hello friends,
When ever call comes in it will show only blank screen & took more than 10 seconds to show the caller id.
Is this rom has the same problem?
No, this is in my opinion the best Note 2 ROM.
I have to disagree with MartinX3 and say to jekhor and rushikeshdd28 that the dialer interface is very slow due to the built-in Caller ID functionality.

For me, it was a very pleasant surprise using a built-in Caller ID because I don't remember any of my previous ROMs having that feature.
And it actually works here in Greece.

But unfortunately it has that side-effect of a very slow dialer screen.
Also, I always use a free Caller ID app from Google Play for my country.

If you disable the built-in Caller ID, your dialer will be a lot faster when receiving calls.

You're basically comparing TW goodies to AOSP goodies which makes no sense buddy.
You should've checked a couple of videos before flashing it.
