After reading yesterday half of this thread and the other half today, I have some more comments to make and some more replies to give.
.
looks like you have not been using AOSP/Custom roms so much, as most of us in this thread are, so we have used to the futures are present and (many) that are not present anymore, when you leave the stock rom.
Many of the futures you are mentioning, are depending on the Samsung propiertary sofware and hardware, so you must learn, if you dont already do so, that Samsung is not releasing its code so other (custom rom) developers can use to bring these futures to custom rom. I am explain my thoughts:
Easy screenshot>>>> stylus/TW future>>>not open source>not possible to use
Calls Recording>TW future> not possible to use. Also its now illegal in the EU, SO only using a third party APP can restore that future in your phone. Also when setting up an APP like this in you phone you have to not tell the truth about been alowed in our country or not.
Unread messages and notifications> TW future. Nove launcher can fix that with tesla unread, but you have to use the pro version for that. Also make sure you have given all permissions and system access to launcher. Trebuchet is a free launcher, dev of the rom, just CANNT include anything that is not open or not allowed to do so.
Battery consumption, I dont think there is a better rom in that. It can stay 7 days in standby and 2.5 days with light use. No other rom included stock , was ever able to do that.
Trick here is to use greenify and let the rom settle for 2-3 charging cycles.
Also you have to calibrate/repair your battery, coming from a so different rom as you said.
these will help you do that, which will also erase all battery stats and give your battery a new working cycle.

After that use better battery stats to monitor your battery use and see if any of your apps is resisting ''sleeping'' :)

Sound in this rom is not as good as it could. Thats true.
I see you already have found out the way to make it louder ,making it sound better Ainur Sauron Audio Mod, is maybe the best way at the momment.
All these things custom rom is not having, for us , custom roms lovers, pays back with its speed, freedom of tens of bloatware that in stock roms you will have to carry around with you.
Stick with us for a while, you will eventually like it, you'll see :)

You're basically comparing TW goodies to AOSP goodies which makes no sense buddy.
You should've checked a couple of videos before flashing it.

Guys, oh guys.

You have clearly misunderstood me so much, that I'm really surprised !

I have clearly said in my previous posts how impressive this ROM is and as I wrote before, it's the best ROM I've ever used compared to previous stock/custom based on stock.

My previous big posts were just the first impressions of someone with no experience using AOSP ROMs, coming from custom stock based 4.4.x

Take it as a guide to newcomers to AOSP ROM that for me just happened this one to be the first one and thank God the best one.

BTW, today after a few days of using that ROM without installations and wiping cache/ dalvik, it's the first time that after full charge 100% the power consumption dropped slowly and very normally.

And I didn't do anything special, just using the ROM and charging the battery.

As I have already written before, I consider the 0% battery consumption during night with 60 apps installed (including gapps) as the 8th wonder of the world for this ROM.
@logosA
I keep your suggestions and app proposals.
Thanks.

Hello again.

I've noticed a problem with on-line videos embedded in html pages when trying to play them from browser (chrome)

I'm not talking about YouTube or specific video provider, I'm talking about all providers.

It seems that most of the time they start to play fine, but after a few seconds they just stop.

Also, videos embedded in sites, almost always stop playing when I go to full screen or/ and when I rotate the phone from portrait to landscape.

Has anyone else seen a similar situation ?

I have read a few pages back a similar issue regaridng YouTube, but I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing here.

Is it a common problem of all AOSP for this phone ?

I had the same problem with chrome. Change to firefox or opera and it'll be fine

Yes, a whole new installation.
I my case,
The battery saver can be set a number.
After setting a number, the settings/ battery/ battery save option can not enter. Every entering crash cyanogen settings.

Anything to mind before flashing to a note 2 using coltos (7.1.2)? I'll download newest gapps only.
preferred but not mandatory TWRP 3.2.1 (OR 3.2.2)
Also having your phone BL and CP updated to the latest available is a good choice
other than that, best is to take a backup in your EFS partition and Modem using TWRP recovery and save it somewhere that can be accessed easily(Ext sdcard or even better pc)
when sure that you have all your files needed, I would suggest this:
Boot in recovery
advanced wipe
wipe everything (cashe, Dalvik, data, system, internal storage)
back in advance WIPE chose format data>type YES
REBOOT RECOVERY
Factory reset
INSTALL
flash rom
flash gapps
wipe cashe and Dalvik
reboot system.
Preferred set of Gapps> pico or nano is enough, no need for anything bigger
Good luck

6) Regarding sound quality I read about Sauron+JamesDSP mod and viper4android from here http://downloadmirror.co/2zYA/ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip which is probably the best.
I'll try them.
Sound in this rom is not as good as it could. Thats true.
I see you already have found out the way to make it louder ,making it sound better Ainur Sauron Audio Mod, is maybe the best way at the momment.
I updated my TWRP to 3.2.2 and flashed VIPER4Android zip.
I can say that it has a lot of options for all speakers (headset, speaker, bluetooth) and after customizing settings, the sound is better.
I'll stick to it for now.

7) But I see on every boot a Kernel Adiutor notification regarding that applied change in kernel.
Is there a way to avoid that notification or make the change permanent ? (save it to kernel ? )
Any help on that ?
Is there any way to make the change of WiFi algo permanent in kernel or at least avoid the notification every time on boot using Kernel Adiutor ?

I've found the path of batterystats.bin and a post debunking the myth around this file here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445698

Anyway, I used both Battery Repair app and Battery Calibrate app (I'm waiting right now for the first full charge with the phone closed to finish).

The battery repair app said that my battery was 97% healthy.

Even without all these, the battery performance is excellent.

@logosA
I had subscribed to the Telegram note2development channel but I accidentally deleted the automatic bot intro chat.

What do I have to do in order to get back the chat menu ? (it has various options from different categories of files (e.g Kernel, ROM, Gapps etc)

Thank you.

new build crDroidAndroid-7.1.2-20180716-n7100-v3.8.8.zip

I did a dirty install/flash by wiping cache/ dalvik AND system using TWRP 3.2.2 and then flashing the new ROM.
After flashing, I did wipe cache/ dalvik again.

Booting into system, I realized that I lost about 15 apps including Google Play Store/ Services, Contacts, Chrome, Messages etc and keyboard (Gboard)

I re-installed gapps-aroma and most of the apps are back, BUT i'm still missing the keyboard (gboard) - I only have voice commands!

Gboard seems to be installed, but it's grey in the virtual keyboards list and I can't enable it.

1) Is there anything I can do to bring back my old keyboard or install a new one before I go to the clean install solution ?

2) What is the best way to dirty flash a new (based on the same) ROM ?

I thought wiping "system" was a good idea, but probably it's not.

Wiping the system will wipe every system app (Apps in the GAPPS package)

According to the GBoard, will this link help you?

I have some strange issues with latest version of ROM after installing GAPPS. Google Play Services keeps closing...

Weird, I installed the zip file in twrp and after that, I wiped dalvik and cache.
Then I booted the system.
Everything is fine at the moment.
