[rom] [n7100] crDroid (unofficial) (Nougat and Pie) (7.1 and 9.0)

HELP!
So I installed crdroid, it was working fine for 4 days, then suddenly after the screen locks, it won't wake up again. I have pull out the battery and leave it for 10-15 min (if I immediately insert the battery again, it won't start) before inserting it back again, then it will start.
But as soon as the screen locks, the phone will be dead again.
And if I try to reboot it, the screen will freeze until I pull the battery out.

I have already clean wiped and installed the rom again, but it's of no use, as the problem persists. :/

p.s. the phone still works fine when the screen is on, but as soon as the screen locks, its all hell again.

Do you have latest BL and cp ? Did you do a clean flash ? Are you using stock kernel ?

No, I didn't flash BL and CP, it should be included in the cdroid package right?
I just flashed the rom zip and gapps.

yes, I did a clean flash and I'm using stock rom.

Vendor drivers are never included as far as I know.
You need to flash them separately with Odin.

Were you using stock rom before flashing crdroid? If yes, for reasons unknown to me, i faced a similar kind of hell. go back to latest stock rom, flash any TW based custom rom like HYPER ROM then flash LINEAGE OS14.1 then install CrDROID.

Sorry if this is already asked but I am not able to use Google's Tez App on this ROM

Earlier I was on AICP and the Tez app was running properly without any problem (was using iSu with AICP)

is it because the Custom ROM is unofficial ?
As, I am using Magisk (with changed package name) and have selected only Core Magisk Tools. Also, I have added Tez, Google Play store, Play Services, Google framework to the list of Magisk hide apps. I get all the safetynet checks as passed but still can't use the app.

Can someone put some light on this ?
I mean is it because the Custom ROM is not certified with google ?

No it's not included. First of all I'd recommend you to flash the latest BL and cp with Odin (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...om-crdroid-unofficial-n-t3649169/post77111546)
After that do another clean flash and if the problem still exists, it's probably because selinux is set to enforcing. You can workaround by setting it to permissive. Another fix is to "restorecon -RF /data" and "restorecon -RF /data/media". Flashing different Roms may change selinux contexts, and different android versions have different contexts. Flashing los 14 or any ROM with permissive selinux before clean flashing this ROM can also solve it.

Try denying PHONE permission in GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES. Works flawlessly for me.

Download the release on the sdcard.
Boot into twrp.
Locate the file.
And on the right site click on install image.
Then choose and install it.

Thank you, I'll try it if my phone ever wakes up.
Now, it won't even start and it won't charge. Seems like my phone is dead :/

Try a different battery. It could be either the battery or emmc is dead. In most cases it should be the battery

Tried different batteries, but nothing works. It's probably the hardware.

If it diesn't boot with a connected charger, your device is dead. Sadly.
Bad timing, but it is hard to believe, that it was this update.
I'm running the Note 2 with this 3.8.8 update, too.

I can believe.
I lost my Galaxy S2 and years later my Nexus 6 with my data.
I learned to make a better backup strategy and also loved my phones.
Weird that the Note 2 of my family member still works, nice old lady.
