Wish there were a ROM which had the best of both worlds!

A lot changes in 4 years. Particularly the good devs move in to newer devices and no one is left to carry on.

And this is based in the Samsung's stock ROM so at mercy of Samsung for new android versions.

Last Samsung update May 2017 so don't expect another update Android 4.4.2 . T hats why Devs are no longer active no updates to build on .
As said many apps no longer work on this old product .

Well there are AOSP/LOS builds that are newer (at least N based), but those haven't been really active either.

And I think some stuff, like SPen, needs proprietary stuff that isn't available for newer versions.

Similar problems abound with older devices. Proprietary stuff that isn't updated and won't work with newer versions so devices die off. Or the devs that really knew the devices move on and the maintainers that stuck around patching & building don't have to skill to bring up new versions.

I have several such devices.

Nope all long gone , this is a 2014 rom .
You may be lucky and a user has copies .

I know this is an old/dead thread, but i'll ask anyway. I had this rom years ago on my n8000, and today i had to kinda resurrect another n8000. I did as always, but following the instructions doesn't work, because when i flash the bootloader the screen goes black and the tablet reboots in recovery. I tried from philz, cwm and twrp 2.x and 3.x, each time reflashing the stock samsung firmware via odin. What the heck did happen here? I was sure it was easy and fast. Any help is well appreciated.

Dont flash the bootloader and try as it may be corrupt or you have a newer bootloader on .
