Reasons: 1. bad phone signal in some areas wheres other phone doesn't suffer (I suspect it might be from my baseband, CSC etc. and not from my phone itself (hopefully))
Did I do it correctly ?.
N9005 has bad signal compared to most phones even cheaper...changing modem won't change that...anyway you have done it correctly..

I wanted to ask something, whats with the Wi-Fi turn on delay? with stock rom it activates instantly but when I install custom rom, it has a delay of almost 10 seconds before it switches on, any idea ?

because wifi option in stock is always scanning, but it drains battery
in custom rom or kernel for saving battery, the always scan is cut....

You have to upgrade to android 5 on your note3.after that root it then install a custom recovery like two 2.8.7.0 than flash whatever you want! !!

I don't think it's necessary to start from Lollipop. According to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61422944&postcount=1633 and subsequent followups from the poster, he successfully installed from 4.4.2, Knox 0x0 which is similar to my situation.

Thanks.
Having those raritet BL and Modem better not complain about failing Android 5 working...
Or else - can join prev post - only good luck can help.
Anyway I suppose warranty time for phone RIP, so it is not even so essential to keep Knox 0...
Update all! :)
Or - TBH - latest Android 4 for our phone might be even better at least :)

Device check does not work correctly with MOP. You can first install some intermediate version using MOP (without device check, e.g. DevBase older than 2.0 but based on lollipop), and then in second step update to the newest DevBase using FF

Alternatively - you can edit updater-script and remove device check (entire below code):

Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "hlte" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "hlte" ||
    getprop("ro.product.device") == "hltexx" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "hltexx" ||
    abort("This ROM is designed for SM-N9005, aborting.."););

I can't seem to flash this 2.11 zip. md5 passed on Windows.

TWRP 3.0.2

It'll say Aroma installer by somebody and then the progress bar freezes, screen freezes, then it will reboot by itself.

Anyone else having the same problem?

The culprit is TWRP, Aroma installer doesn't work in v3. You have to revert back to 2.x

Hi,

I'm running N9005XXUGNG1 (Kitkat) rooted using _alexndr's method described here.
CSC: N9005VFGGNH1 (UK Vodafone)
I have installed Xposed framework and Wanam exposed, and Viper4Android FX, but other than that have done minimal customisation.
Knox is 0x0

Can I upgrade straight to POK2 using the method described in post 1?
Do I need to factory reset first? If I do, does this remove root?
Post 1 makes reference to upgrading to the newest stock firmware first to get CSC updates but I can't figure out how to do that and keep root.

Any assistance will be much appreciated!
