Hi,

I'm running N9005XXUGNG1 (Kitkat) rooted using _alexndr's method described here.
CSC: N9005VFGGNH1 (UK Vodafone)
I have installed Xposed framework and Wanam exposed, and Viper4Android FX, but other than that have done minimal customisation.
Knox is 0x0

Can I upgrade straight to POK2 using the method described in post 1?
Do I need to factory reset first? If I do, does this remove root?
Post 1 makes reference to upgrading to the newest stock firmware first to get CSC updates but I can't figure out how to do that and keep root.

Any assistance will be much appreciated!
To answer my own questions:
Can I upgrade straight to POK2: yes. Although I opted to do a Restore Factory Defaults (from the phone menu, not recovery) beforehand
Do I need to factory reset first? Dunno, I decided best to. Does this remove root? No, but it does remove SuperSU, just reinstall it from Play Store
Regarding upgrading to newest stock firmware first to get CSC updates - I didn't do this. Everything seems to be fine.
I flashed using Flashfire.
I then installed the BL and CP files using Odin 3.09

How to: "choose in Aroma Installer"? Is it during flashing this rom, before , after or what? Where is this Aroma Installer?

I am on 5.1 lollipop, do I need to flash bootloader and modem first, them deodexed rom?

Ok, I don't normally ask for help like this but it would very much appreciated!* I have an N9005 and I'm looking at flashing this ROM. Currently I have an unofficaial version of Cyanogen 13 (6.0.1) on it with knox tripped 0x1.

1. Can I use this method to get it back to 0x0? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65367020&postcount=2016
2. What is POK2 and BOL3?
3. I see people talking about different versions throughout the thread (and some to download) - are there updated versions posted through this thread or do I download one from the OP?

Thanks! :)

1. Sorry but once you trip Knox there's no way to get it back to 0x0.
2. Those are the development branches of firmware for this phone, updated at the latest release each.
3. In the OP you can find the latest version of this rom or the link to the post to find it.
You're welcome.

Thanks diegobn. I wasn't worried about 0x1 (just the text that comes up at boot/charging is annoying). So BOL3 is the latest but some people are talking about using POK2 still because they have less issues with that version? Do I have that right?

You're right but in my personal experience I haven't had any issue so far with BOL3 so I guess problems with previous versions were resolved, OP prefers POK2 so it's up to you.

As this thread was not updated for a long time - I'd like to announce that in a few days I will release 2 version with huge changes. For reference - see changelog up to v3.6 in one of these threads (post #2 - hidden content):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881

http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-ane4-kitkat-4-4-2-multi-csc-t2813628

(Aroma Installer will be abandoned as it seems to be dead project, but there will be 2 new alternate customization methods mentioned in above threads)

I have plan to release DevBase v3.6 for 2 Samsung's bases:

- N9005XXUGBPD3 - the newest of N9005XXUGBxxx series
- N9005XXUGPOK2 - the newest of my favorite N9005XXUGPxxx series which I'm personally still using on my N9005

@_alexndr
Any chance you might do the PD4 firmware?
No, as it is not N9005XX(...) base
