Call me a noob, but what's safestrap? I'm guessing a way to root the Note 3 without triggering the flash counter?

I'm guessing also that if you're rooted already (which I assume a lot of people are already), you can flash this couldn't you?

Last but not least, so awesome to have Beans here, I was on Note 2 and his was the best rom on it and now he's on Note 3, couldn't be happier!

No, not a way to root. Safe strap is a *recovery* side-loader. For flashing Roms, to keep on your device in parallel with factory ROM.

And no, you cannot flash this ROM until either safe strap is released, or bootloader is unlocked.

I'd recommend doing some research on this stuff before you proceed so you don't make yourself an expensive paperweight

we dont have a custom recovery yet but we do have root and read/write acess to the system partition no?lol!?

deodex files can be very useful for themers/modders who want to tinker with thier phone while we wait on a recovery. **** my whole jellybeans rom and @sbreen94's hyperdrive could almost be finished just by having these files. you could also take the time to download open up a cpl apks and tweak a cpl things on your phone

It is up because beans took the time to Deodex it for us. ROM Dev can start creating modding the the ROM they may make.

To us lowly Themers, we can theme our stuff now.

I have themed Phone/Contacts/MMS/Email becuase of Dev doing this stuff for us. It looks great on my NoteIII

While it may have no value for you, it has alot of value for those that do stuff for users phone, that to be quite honest, the day that SS on Unlock Bootloader comes out, willstart whining about ROM to be released etc. Not saying you.. but it will happen.. Case in point? I pushed out some of my inverts, do I get thanx? Nope I get can you invert such and such app instead...

I would love to know if this is possible. Beans I loved your work in the GN2 and will most likely follow your GN3 but with what we have right now I'd take a debloated Odin .tar flashable. I saw this great post a page back and I felt this needs to be answered if not done.

Not possible. The Odin tar file would not pass signature checks to be flashed.

Beleive me if if could have been done, if would have been done by now. LOL

its possible on s3 and note2 but not possible on the s4 or note 3 they added signature checking to the system.img thats why i think the root we have is so genious . basically if the size of the system.img is different than stock it wont flash.. damn samsung closing gaps like its thier job or something

Thanks beans! Not sure how you had the focus to get this finished during the playoffs ... our Sox have definitely been keeping my anxiety level maxed! (and also keeping me from finishing just about any project I start!)


Less time worrying about the "who/what/where/when/how" guys, and more time rolling up the sleeves and getting our hands dirty. There's plenty of stuff here that'll can/will be beneficial to not only the SGN3, but also the SGN2, SGS4, & SGS3!

Yes all of the Messaging, Phone, and any apps like that will probably not be compatable.

I'm a real noob but had to ask anyway. So if the image checks size couldn't we take out x amount of files and put in x to off set the difference. Like a padding. Again I don't know programming or how checks work just throwing out things which you guys probably already tried.
