Gah,...that's a bummer.

I'm looking at how to unroot and was worried I'd softbrick the phone or something if I flashed an older/incompatible firmware

I made a backup of my original stock TW installation, but when I hit the Update button in About Phone, my Settings app just force closes and stops responding.
Look at post #2 from beans above. It tells you what to do.

I just Odin'd back to MJ7, took the update. Re-rooted with Kingo and it worked the first time. I reinstalled safestrap and installed the odex version in slot one and running fine.

how to flash mje modem on dev edition

Retail: if you are on a retail note3 it is highly recomended to flash the mj7 tar then take the ota and root/install safestrap then install this (that way u have the most current firmware as the kernel and modem changed alot)

Dev Editions: i will have a flashable firmware package when we can pull the MJE tar from kies/update assistant on a retail. however this works fine with our current modems because we can update kernels retails cannot unless they take ota

So for the dev edition will we have to flash two files ,,or will u have one file that inludes the firmware update and the new kernel ?
Can you please clarify.
Thanks for your kind support

The rom comes with kernel for Dev editions it will automatically install new kernel. Safestrap doesn't allow kernel flashing so it won't install the included kernel on retails. Hope that makes more sense all we are waiting on for dev editions is the updated modems. I need retail tar to be able to pull modems correctly

you kinda answered my question. So will will have a B5 release .
The new release will load the kernel on the dev ed then we can flash the modem after we have the B5 running...

do you still take donations on ppal -the charter email?
I need to get u a beer man.
u had 22 releases in a year for n2 and 4 already for n3.
what can I say:
thanks!!

I was on MJ7 with SS.. I tried both the survival mode... And uninstall of SS and both error when trying to take OTA... I Odin which was a breeze.. Factory reset on boot up as I was getting FCs.. Took OTA... Kingo rooted.. Installed SS.. Running beans 4 with new modem/kernel... And CR 1.5 on new base... I have one of our members updating with Kies instead of Odin..

Here's thread for info.. Post near end of thread

I used 3.07 no hitch...

Edit.. Make sure you can see phone in Com (upper left) b4 you even start file.. I used a new PC so I had to download drivers from Samsung site first...

I just got my note 3 and it's asking if I want to update it. If I do is the latest update root able so I then can install safestrap? Just wanted to be sure before I took it
