I'd probably help you if you told me what error you're getting. Most errors can be circumvented by mounting system and vendor in TWRP before flashing. I have many other users able to use gapps fine.

I found the gapps that I need and it works perfectly. My only problem is my phone gets heated too much when I'm playing some games, got any solution on that?

I've found this happens to me on Pie as well, I never really found a way around it. You could use a kernel manager to possible undervolt a little bit.

GPS problems

Hello all,

have recently installed this ROM on an SM-N960F. I am quite satisfied with the ROM itself (compliments to the relevant people).

I have however GPS problems -
Using a previous ROM (AospExtended ROM V5.8), GPS (GPS Status, Sygic etc.) worked flawlessly on this same device.
On this ROM, using GPS Status, I am seeing strong Satellite signals, but not getting a fix - see attached screenshot.)
From the ADB shell, I notice I have no gps.conf in /system/etc/.. I have however, a gps_debug.conf in the same location.

Any pointers/tips much appreciated.

Regards,

Aubrey

PS I cannot find "attach image" button, am I missing something?
PPS I would also like to attach a logcat for the relevant time, but I am not finding the attach button...

Seeing as I still cannot upload data/images, here is an excerpt from the logcat for the appropriate time period -

Would I get regular updates if I flash this ROM? Is the update process is automatic as we have seen in Samsung's OTA Updates? When the stable version will be released will I need to erase all of my data for flashing the stable version of the ROM? Please help.

>would I get regular updates

Depends on how you define "regular". Updates would depend on how frequently upstream oOo updates as well as how frequently OP releases updates. Even if it's frequent, it won't be synchronous with Samsung updates. Don't worry about that.

>is the update process automatic
>will I need to erase all my data

Read the OP, please. It answers both of these questions.

Hello, did you put a integrity check on boot? I tried to remove some system packages but the system failed to boot, even with only the default browser removed.

Buy me a Note 8 and sure, I'll work on it.

@abtekk is dual SIM and SD enabled? I.e. can I use both SIMs and an SD at the same time using a special SIM tray SD adapter?

Never heard of it. Does it work in any other ROM? If not, it won't here.

Is the ROM SafetyNet compliant? Can use Google Pay and download Netflix?

Sure you can. Loads of people have Netflix and GPay working.

    What's working:
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Mobile Network (Calling, Data, etc.)
    • Audio (Stereo Speakers)
    • Camera
    • Fingerprint Sensor
    • S-Pen Basics
    • Call Recording
    • HWC
    • Signal Indicator
    • GPS
    • HDMI
    • NFC
    • MTP

    What's not working:
    • Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
    • IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.

    Bugs:
    • S-Pen/Mouse will cause small graphical glitches during button animations sometimes.

    Instructions:
    • Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
    • Flash the latest build (then gapps and magisk if needed)
    • Reboot

THE VENDOR.IMG IS PROVIDED AS PART OF THE ROM. FLASHING ANOTHER VENDOR WILL CAUSE A BOOTLOOP.

    How to update builds?
    • Do not wipe anything unless stated in the changelog
    • Flash only the rom.zip and it will automatically reinstall your gapps, magisk, vendor etc
    • use /system/addon.d if you would like to keep system mods after an update
