Konstantinos.T, read a few pages above, your neighbor from Turkey more than a month trying to set the marshmallow, because it is silent, apparently abandoned this idea )))

Samsung Wave S8500 Lollipop?

Good morning, I have a Samsung Wave S8500, I tried to install the different Roma who are there, but on some, omnirom 5.1.1 Lollipop - 05.09.2016, [ROM] [NAND], [6.0.1] omnirom [20151222] Full Advance 6.0.1 for the Samsung Wave, [ROM] [6.0.1] [Wave] a-6.0.1 rom, my phone does not identify the SIM, but the others as Omni 4.4 - 01.26.2016, [ROM] [CM11] [kitkat 4.4.4], [GearCM] [NAND | S85xx] [4.4.4] Optimized CyanogenMod, but work is slow. Is there a way to recognize the SIM for Lollipop? Thank you

Zip and ROM ?

Hi,
I like your work installing Android 6.0 to wave II very much.
I followed your tutorial until Mount. MTP is enabled.
What do mean by Copy "Zip and ROM"
Do you mean the initially download three files ( one zip file, one fota file, one rc1 file) and
to which folder of the phone do I have to copy them from the PC ? What device on the phone I have to mount before ?
Can I access all folders and devices of the phone from the PC (Windows Explorer) ?
Maybe you can also describe the following installation in more detailed steps ( what to click)
Regards
Bernd

Let’s emphasize that-- THIS IS AN ALPHA, RELEASED FOR YOU TO PLAY WITH AND GET A SENSE OF WHAT’S TO COME. AND SOME THINGS DOESN’T WORK. REALLY. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING ANYTHING CLOSE TO PERFECTION, WALK AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER, LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR AN HOUR OR SO, THEN COME BACK. MORE EXCITING DISCLAIMERS/WARNINGS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS CAN BE FOUND BELOW. READ THEM.

Code:
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 */
KNOWN BUGS (what doesn't work):
- Modem in 2G mode work incorrect(Network registration don't work with some SIM cards, permanent full signal straight, problem is with audio in calls)
With 3G all is OK, Use this: Settings -> More.. in "wireless&network" category -> Mobile Network -> Preferred Network type -> 3G only
- Conference Calls
- Some problems with audio codec settings, but generally it should
- After Recovery time to time incorrect capacity of battery
- disabled SELINUX
- Camera key don't start camera app
- TV out removed, because it is not working yet

Install Zip an ROM Android Versions

Hi Union Jack,

thanks very much for your help and references.

the various installation tutorials talk about " copy Zip and Rom".
So logically I understand there are two items to copy.

you mentioned in a post the zip file omni-4.4.4-20160126-wave-HOMEMADE.zip.
Do I understand correct that the zip file includes the ROM ?
Or do I additionally need a second file with the ROM ?

Where can I download the mentioned zip file and other Android versions ?

How does it work (step by step) if I want to use the internal storage (no SD Card) to put the zip/rom files and install it ?

As far as I understand I now already have the Badadroid OS and I can try various Android versions
How to delete the old one and try another one (Step by Step) ?

Bernd

Fijifutschi, The marshmallows in the waves is bad, install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800014 and read posts #470, 472 and 475 and then

Fijifutschi, File with ROM - one is the archive format - zip.
The link in the first post of any topic.
Therefore, copy " Zip with ROM" and do not "copy Zip and ROM"
Removal Android you need to flash Bada using multiloader.

Installation Omni-Android-4.4.4-wave-homemade.zip

Hi Union Jack,

thanks for your help.

the zip file link was very hidden :
CHANGELOG:
26.01.2016 https://yadi.sk/d/lY5ZEJc6noBVH

However I managed to intstal omni

But I stuck at the message "Encryption unsuccessful".
After various click on "Reset phone" , battery/SIM in/out I can't go further.

Maybe do a factory reset with a combination of Waves buttons ?
Maybe install another zip?

Bernd

Fijifutschi, APK files you need to access through filemanager "documents"
If contacts were saved in KIES then save as *.vcf , copy to SD card and open in filemanager.
Or try to copy them using another phone.
