This simply will not boot for me at all. Even tried clearing both caches and still nothing. Initial install reboots right after skipping WiFi setup. When clearing cache it doesn't ever make it past the ktoon kernel logo?

This? You have to be more specific so you don't confuse people. I assume your talking about the new update. It is probably a bad download. Redownload, md5 check, wipe rom for clean install/clear cache/dalvik cache, flash rom, reboot. Squeeky clean install is recommended for less issues.

Two other questions to try to help:

1) Are you on ND8? Necessary first step.

2) Are you running the latest version of Philz?

Well guys... Just hit some major financial hard times, my wife's school cut funding so she's only getting 1/5 of the refund she was getting. I put up a GoFundMe page for her but I don't know if that will do any good. This is her last year and I'm going to do all that I can so she can finish it. Which means I most likely won't have too much time to be on here. If anybody has any suggestions or can help out or anything... Please PM me, I'm at the point where I don't know what to do.

My apologies of course, the combination of slight drunkenness and my assumption that posting in a thread specifically for specific rom would have been self explanatory though it seems I was mistaken. Yes the version 8.0 update was indeed what I was referring to.

We've all been there at one point or another brother. Do what you must and if there's anything we can do please don't hesitate to ask.

OK so yes I'm already on the ND8 rom. I have downloaded directly to my device and transfered from my pc as well. Md5 checks on both came out correctly and it still is doing the same thing. Seems to me the second the kernel gets su permissions it reboots

That might be your previous settings then, KTweaker saves them on your SD card, and when it is given su permissions it applies those settings.

Ahhh gotcha. That would make sense then. Is there a place the settings are stored that I may be able to go and delete them from? I've tried to see if any settings or profiles were saved via the ktweaker app and I didn't see any profiles or anything that could be deleted through the app.

There is a KTweaker folder on IntSd

Yeah the only thing that really sucks is they didn't inform us before hand that this was going to happen, she was getting $660-2500 ($660 twice, then $2500 once, repeat). Then they were a week late on depositing it and she only got $120. Some people depend on that money to live on, I don't understand how it's OK to do that to someone and not let them know what's going on before hand (they knew, why shouldn't we?). So all our bills are due in a week and I don't know what to do... We were counting on that other $500.

Yea that sucks, they should've definitely told you guys. Like you said, if they know you should too. It seems irresponsible to let you guys rely on that money then without saying a word just eliminate it completely. I wish you guys the best of luck! I'm sure you'll figure everything out, I hope so at least. I'll keep you guys in my prayers along with Tony and his family. Good luck.

How to turn off caller id announce and keep S5 phone UI

I think I found a way to turn off the caller id announce without having to revert to the S3 caller interface... at least it worked for me. It makes no sense but if you turn on Hands Free mode, go into it's settings and un-check Incoming Call (Read out callers' information when receiving incoming calls) and then turn Hands Free mode back off it will no longer announce the caller id name. I even turned this setting back on and then turned Hands Free mode off to verify and it once again announces them. I tested this several times back and forth and having the Incoming Call setting un-checked seems to remedy the problem.
Hope this helps others that, like me, want to keep the S5 interface but not have the phone announce the callers.

Thanks, Bytes! Trying now.

EDIT; How do you turn on "hands free mode'?

EDIT REDUX; never mind, found it. Profit! It works just like advertised! Thanks, that "call announcer" thing was annoying as hell (IMHO)

Linked in post #4 FAQ... I knew there had to be an option somewhere, we added a lot of mods, it was a little hard keeping them all straight.

Can you clarify:

My lock screen effect resets when I reboot.

Did I read correctly that it's because I have the stock-ish theme?

So if I switch themes, it will stick?
If you flashed the stockish theme right after the update... Or are using the stockish theme from before the update.... Then yes.

I have updated it and reposted it directly under the v8 update post.

It contains the s3 phone and contacts to be stock.... Haven't posted a stock s5 one yet tho.

But redownload and flash the new one.... And the fixes under it so you don't have to reflash the ROM.

Flash the fixes first... Then the stockish theme.

POST IS FOUND HERE

AND IF YOU FIND ANYTHING OTHER THAN TEXT COLOR TO BE SOMETHING OTHER THAN STOCK... PLEASE POST A SCREENSHOT AND WHAT APP IT IS IN MY PCB THEME THREAD PLEASE.
