I like the contact name announcement on an incoming call. How do I turn off the proximity sensor that controls the screen? I sometimes have problems with that working properly. I looked but I don't see it as an option. I would prefer to just turn the screen on and off myself.

Settings > My device > Call

Uncheck - Turn off screen during calls

For those that are interested the muti user xposed app works on this rom it says aosp only but i have not run into any major issues periodically when you reboot your phone it will come up and say there is a partition error click this to factory default your phone you just pull your battery and reboot and it will boot fine that error message is so irractict it happens 1 in 100 boots i have been running it for about two weeks now and only seen that error a handful of times. If this has been mentioned before i appoligize for the repeat of this info.

Thanks, I have seen this option before on other Roms. But, I still can't find it in Wicked-X 8.

Thought I'd share this. Given my S3 is my secondary device and I don't have much screen-on time this is running 8.0 with a 2 year old stock battery. I do also use Greenify.

Question. I installed V8 to my wifes phone. She was previous running V7. I can not find any widgets anywere... Never mind found it LOL

It has been brought to my attention that I had a bad apk in my stockish theme that caused the issue with the lockscreen effects.

If you have downloaded it and/or flashed it. Please redownload and Flash the updated one, or download and flash the fix located in the same post.

In the same post, I have posted a S3 (PCB and Stock themed) AND S5 (PCB ONLY) phone revert zips. NO NEED TO DELETE ANYTHING AS THE ZIPS WILL DO IT FOR YOU.

Also linked the network speed indicators in that post.

Next up is getting the Single pulldown bar mod back... but that'll be another night.

You're talking about disabling the prox sensor right? Hit answering and ending calls, it's in there.

That was it!!!!

I didnt have anyone set as a favorite....

Add them to favorites and check the option in hands free mode and it reads the caller...

Uncheck the option in hands free mode or remove them from favorites and it stops...

Finally.... We got that one figured out lol....

No it's not there anymore (yes, Samsung is the one that set everything up this way).

No, that's how you disable it or re-enable it, you have to have them in your Favorite Contacts or it won't announce them. It's enabled by default. Check out post #4 link about Caller Announce.

Well as I was discussing yesterday I still can't get mine to work.
Edit: OK after rereading @the_original_teknikl 's posts it does work when people are favorited.

My prox sensor option is there. See screenshot.

Hey guys, I'm loving this rom and W8 update. Wanam doesn't seem to want to cooperate. It won't disable the increasing call ringer. Did I miss a memo, is this a known issue? Thanks.. Phil
EDIT:.. I uninstalled updates and data but it didn't change anything.

thanks for the new rom, my old wicked 4.3 was acting up somethign fierce so i took the nd8 plunge, seems nice so far, but is there a way to change the color of the sms list screen? not the 'in message' one but where it shows all teh sms's, for some reason, on my phone, that pasty blue with that shade of grey is rather hard to discern.

thanks, now if i can just figure out how to get rid of the status bar clock, wanam settings dont hide it for some reason...


also, it seems to laaaag alot when backing out of the sms window, the rom runs smoothly otherwise

Wanam (nor any other mod) cannot change clock (note in the OP about this) because of the Hidden Power button mod, your clock is a power button, tap for screen off, hold for power menu.

Wanam is on its way out of this ROM, it can cause a lot of conflicts... There should be other Xposed mods you can try that have that feature.
