Lost
Yikes. I just lost the ability to transfer on USB entirely. MTP/PTP doesn't work, can't even mount USB storage on philz. This happened a couple times on earlier versions and I fixed it by dialing *#7284# and switching it from PDA to modem and back to PDA. That's not working this time. People keep telling me to reinstall the pc drivers but it doesn't even recognize the phone as an unknown device so that is moot. It's not mounting anything at all just charging on the PC. Sigh.
"Fast Charge" will cause that too in your Kernel Settings

I never use that. It finally worked after I booted into download mode, plugged into the PC and rebooted the phone. The data for three of my apps disappeared during the time it wasn't working, which was really weird. Nothing left but empty drawer icons.

Omg! Finally on the v8.0 train and wow! Also flashed teknikl's recent s5 update and and the no-update play store. I managed to port over various themed apps from priest punch, pink, green, and anakonda;just not all of them. I absolutely had to keep Tony's priest punch music player and facebook ? lol.
I also agree that lack of system space was one of the major reasons some of the older themes won't work. I had that problem porting some of Tony's apps until I cleared some system space up; also note that even with sufficient space I was not able to get some of the apks to port, quite a few worked though.
Team Black Outs Beta Chrome is what I used to download the Rom Update if anyone is still having trouble. The Lightning effect is definately awsome! Great Job with the update guys!! Now I need to try out the updated Blue Waffle. Exquisite work, feels like a new phone every update thanks.

S5 Phone Update:

*Disabled increasing ringtone

*Merged the call popup options in phone settings

*Added Answer Call with Home-button in the phones built-in settings
note: you can also enable answer calls by tapping the accept button instead of swyping it... by going into settings->my device->accessibility->answering/ending calls->answer by tapping

*Fixed the reject call message menu (blue text on blue background)

*Added SMemo - Its integrated in the Incall screen.
Take notes while in-call, such as a phone number or address from the caller.

Download Here

Note: No need to delete anything. The zip will delete both the S5 and S3 phone apps for you. Just flash and enjoy.
This looks like an awesome update, will it cause any issues with the "Stockish" theme?

Once installed just hit the home button and it asks what launcher you want to use...

Also, you can go to settings->more->default applications->home

Or you can use a root browser to delete the apk you don't want

Just make sure you switch before you uninstall the stock one, or you'll be rebuilding your phone... haha I just found that out. Rebuilding to do a clean install of v8.0, and was a little too trigger happy with uninstalling some of the stock apps

You want to make sure there's another launcher installed.... If not then there's no interface... But a new launcher only needs to be flashed if uninstalled before installing a. New one ... No need to reinstall the ROM.

Every time I upgrade I have to reflash sec.launcher2 so I can have my 5x4 grid back. I just keep a copy on my SD card. I just rename the other one to .old.

You have to push it to system/priv-app and set permissions to 0644 like the screenshot and then save and reboot. Also make sure you delete SecLauncher3.apk or it won't show up.

If you uninstall the launcher without any installed you can just go online on a computer to the play store and download a launcher from there to your phone. Once it's downloaded to your phone you just hit the home button and it should work without having to reinstall the whole ROM.

Inverted GMail (New - Work-around)

Ok, as everyone knows.... the new gmail has yet to be inverted due to compiling issues with apktool.

So, I have been playing with another way to invert it... as i truly despise googles white and colorful interface in most of their apps.

So I am sharing a way to MOSTLY invert and colorize your gmail.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the 2 files attached to this post (GmailNew3Inverted.resflux.zip <--changes the colors, and com.google.android.gm.apk <-- changes the images)

2. Install resflux from here this changes text and some other swipe colors.

3. Install holothemer.apk from here this directs most of the backgrounds to the holo dark background.

4. Enable them in xposed installer app DO NOT REBOOT YET.

5. Push the gmail app to system/priv-app ( note: if its not there already, then uninstall the previous version )

6. Reboot your phone now.

7. Open holothemer and scroll to gmail and change it to holo-dark (also do the same for google+ if you want, to lose the red and white)

8. Open resflux and press the home button (so it creates its folder on your phone)

9. Push the resflux zip from the attachment, to the resflux folder on your INTERNAL memory.

10. Open resflux and tap on LABORATORY.

11. Scroll down and tap on gmail..... let it maps its resources.... may take about 10 minutes or longer to do so.... let it do it, it only does this once.

12. Once the resources are mapped.... back out to the main resflux screen and tap IMPORT.

13. Import the gmail zip and reboot the phone.

14. Enjoy.
NOTES:

NOTE 1: YOU CAN GO BACK INTO LABORATORY AND PLAY WITH THE COLOR SETTINGS TO GET ANY OTHER COLORS YOU WOULD LIKE.

NOTE 2: In holo-themer, DO NOT PIC ANY OTHER OPTION FOR GMAIL....USE ONLY HOLO DARK OR YOU WILL GET AN FC SOMEWHERE IN THE APP.

NOTE 3: I used my pc to push the themed images into the apk itself.. i have not used resflux to try this despite its option. i prefer the pc for this.

NOTE 4: You can use resflux and holo themer to experiment with many other apps. I use holo themer first to change the back grounds black (it does not work right with all apps, some do not have holo references... so those you have to play completely with resflux on those apps.) then resflux to fine tune the app.

NOTE 5: If anyone wants to... they can post their results in my pcb thread if you theme the app blue.... if its another color ask the op of the theme you are using if you can post in that themes thread to help supplement the theme.
Yes I know I posted here..... The ROM comes with PCB as stock so [emoji12]

Actually I figured out that Google restored Nova Prime, but not the Nova launcher itself... so when I uninstalled the stock launcher I literally had no launcher installed and that's where I got stuffed up. I had just reloaded so it was not a problem for me to go back wipe and do it again, being more careful the second time. Ha rule of thumb, don't reload when you are tired... you miss the easy stuff

Screen On Time? Just curious, I got 10 hours with a 4800 mah and 38 hours total.

Here's what I'm at now... As you can see my battery is magic and regains battery when in deep sleep like an RPG.
