@bilgerryan- that little smali edit you found seems to have done the trick. It's been 20+ minutes and my Play Store is still themed AnaKonda. There is a reason behind the madness, especially since Google has gone to this "material" design thing. I would imagine that the rest of the ensuing Play Stores are going to be set up in a similar manner, which means that I'll be able to make that edit you showed me on the foreseeable ones, which of course are going to be many since Google loves to provide us with plenty of updates to keep us theming. Thanks, man!!!

Yeah I don't see them changing the self update method anytime soon... At least we figured it out in a few hours.

Yes, and thank for finding that for me. At least if Google changes things again I'll know what to kinda look for so maybe I'll save you a trip finding the smali edit for me. Like I said in my Pm, sure is nice having a RD handy. Lol

OK, so I flashed the ROM, it looks amazing! only, Wifi not staying connected, connects for a a couple of minutes but then disconnects. More importantsly, there is no data, there is cellular service but not data, I managed to get the phone to connect to 3g by going to networks and selecting "cdma" only option, when left on "lte/cdma" no data, can someone let me know a way to fix this? thank you

If the ndc modem isnt working, Flash the nd8 modem. I personally odined nd8 stock tar, odined recovery then wicked x. So I have nd8 bootloader and nd8 modem on virgin service.
Also note that I heard that some people had to flash an apn fix to get data. Everyone's phone acts differently.

actually Try doing a data reset first ##72786# , update prl and profile. You will get it working with patience.

find the NDC or ND8 modem.zip file and flash it in the recovery and see if that helps and you must also check if you're in a 4G coverage area....

Same here but. I don't think the mic records sounds, The speaker does. If I yelled my wife could hear me through the dirt.

Hmmmm. Maybe it is the mic, now i plugged in headphones with a mic and it doesn't work either. Does that mean it could still be a software issue?

I've tried flashing the NDC modem also updating PRL, I am going to try flashing ND8 modem on monday, I saw someone suggested trying that out, will give it a shot. I just wanted to see from someone who has done it successfully from the same device as my friends, trying to do it on the first shot , just wasn't sure if flashing modem and bootloader to ND8 would make the device unusable on virgin. sorry, not trying to flood the thread brotha

No it won't make it unusable on VM, you can always flash back... And no matter what you do, if you don't have data dial ##72786#. It will put the phone through a reactivation on VM.

I have the same device, maybe I wasnt clear before. I have Virgin s3 device, virgin service, nd8 bootloader, nd8 modem, and tweaked proxy settings. I odined sprint nd8 stock rom, and philz recovery flawlessly.

tweaked proxy settings? what are those settings? should I do all you did? or just try flashing the ND8 modem first? and if doesn't work after applying the code then flash/odin the ND8 bootloader? I do already have Philz on her S3.

You cant downgrade bootloader to previous firmware, but nd8 bootloader and ndc bootloader are both 4.4.2 bootloaders and interchangeable.

Tweak Proxy settings dial ##data# then edit. Check this out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53220503

I'd also like to add that if you do the proxy settings after you flash the ROM, you won't need to find her MSL.

step 3 Flash Wicked X 8.0 or Barebones
step 4 (optional) Flash NDC Modem Update
step 5 (optional) flash any other mod/theme you want
