trying to figure a way to calibrate this thing. Landscape mode is upside down bro. It hasnt bugged me yet. Im glad its all working so well with a different fw but it wont be long till that will start to piss me off... how i can reverse this sensor besides the apps that manually flip it. Enabled all rotation in wanam and up and down works fine i just cant get it to accept gravity landscape-wise. any ideas?

Try this:

Calibrating Compass
1) Go to the test menu page by dialing* # 0 * #

2) Press Sensors (Never press Sleepmode!)

3) At the bottom of the page is compass and the number must be 3. That means you have calibrated the compass by 3 axis....

4) If you have number 0,1 or 2 just move your phone in the air until you get 3...

I have my mom's sprint s3 phone set up with straight talk. Wicked x works just fine before and after activation.
Her phone is on Wicked v7.3 running Tony's pink theme.
Now if your asking about flashing a verizon rom then no. I didnt flash it to straight talk, I activated it on straight talk byop.

I'd add that Page Plus may offer a better deal at $29.95 a month if you can live with 3G data speeds. The phone with ROM should flash just fine. Look into the Talk and Text 1200 plan. My Note 3 and wife's S3 on Wicked X 8.0 are both on that plan and we have zero issues.

i thought for sure this was gonna fix it. It just made it more accurate at being upside down. Apparently it's a kernel issue with this new firmware. also been rummaging thru the fs hoping to find something I could edit but doesnt look like it. There'll be a fix hopefully soon. theres a couple other ppl with the same issue.

Thank you for fixing my compass. I always thought that Google maps was broken because the compass pointer was always showing the wrong direction. How did the compass lose calibration in the first place?

Just like any instrument it loses calibration over time

Does this mean that there are millions of uncalibrated phones? Is there a Google play app that can calibrate the compass? I'm surprised Google map doesn't have the calibrate function... Do you need root to use the calibrate function? What happens when a stock user needs to calibrate their compass?

Most likely. I don't know, maybe. No. Same process... I don't think you need the MSL (haven't been unroofed once I got this phone so I'm not sure).

Hey guys, I've tried to fix this for the past few hours and no luck.

I'm not on 8.0, but the version before. I had been using Hangouts for MMS since MMS wasn't working when I first installed Wicked back in July.

Now I'm sick of Hangouts being such a crap app so I've been trying to fix the Messaging app. I tried four different versions of the SecMMS zip or apk in this thread but none are working. I cannot send a simple group text message.

I am on Sprint, Google Voice integrated, and had merged hangouts and Google Voice. Before trying to fix the Messaging app I first removed the voice+hangouts integration in Gmail, and double checked that it was gone in my hangouts app.

I updated PRL and profile and cleared cache and delvik between messaging app installs.

I currently have the blue PCB S5 MMS installed

Anyone have any ideas why I cannot send or receive MMS in the messaging app?

Did u check settings-messaging and ensure that default messaging is messaging and not hangouts?

Yeah, I did. Neither app will let you send anything from SMS/MMS unless you declare it to be the default.

Did you check the md5sum of the ROM? It should be working right of the bat... Have you tried dialing ##72786#?

I'll check the md5sum now and report my findings.

You should be checking the original ROM zip that you flashed. If it didn't match to begin with its likely the source of the problem and the reason why you can't fix it. Or you can just try clean installing v8.0.
