It is in there it just didn't work for me. I haven't had enouh free time to investigate why. It's probably something simple and on my end. I was just reporting since someone else had the issue too.
Nearly every time I have boot animation issues it is because the boot animation zip was set to something other than "store" when compressing it, which would cause a black screen during boot. Then again, that is when I was putting one together.

For those of you experiencing the black screen gurple boot animation issue
it could be caused by the boot animation file in /system/bin not being replaced with a video supported one or it not having the correct permissions set. You can try replacing it and resetting the permissions or just take one of the video boot animation flashes, unzip it, and replace the boot animation zip with the Gurple boot animation zip, re-zip it back up and flash it.

Or you can just flash this and see if it resolves your issue; its TONY6669's Gurple theme video boot animation flash zip. Tested it out on my wifi S3(running TR 2.0 and the Gurple theme) by flashing a different bootanimation zip and then flashing this and it works with no issues.

This flash will replace the boot animation file in system/bin with one that supports video boot animation and replaces your current boot animation zip in system/media with TONNY669's gurple bootanimation zip and sets the correct permissions on both files also. If you want to keep your originals, back them up before flashing. You know the drill, use at your own risk , not responsible for any damages that may occur from flashing, etc, etc, etc.

ENJOY ... cbrox

I'll take it if you don't mind. Or can I fix what might already be there?

Wicked
push into system/media fix permissions and reboot

Well, with 653 pages of discussion I'm about 95% sure my question has already been answered. But that is a lot of stuff to go through, to find it.

Anyhow, I've never been able to enjoy this rom. I tried flashing it back in June of this year, and I continuously got error messages about apps. They would force close themselves constantly. And I mean really constantly. Also, the phone would randomly reboot itself without warning. It sometimes would happen minutes apart, or closer to a half hour. No timing to it. I gave up back then, and flashed the Resurrection Remix. Which I really enjoyed, however the dev's stopped supporting it.

Recently I became bored with this ROM, and wanted to try a new one. I saw that Wicked was still being supported very heavily, and thought "Why not, I'll give it another chance." Well, I downloaded the ROM which is 1gb in total. Pretty large. Did my titanium backup for my apps, nandroid for my rom, and continued to wipe and clear everything. I flashed the rom, and everything seemed to be doing just fine. Once I got into the phone, though, it just kept doing the restart thing again. I would set the phone down while I tried to download certain apps off the market, and the phone would just reboot itself without warning. No indication of what was causing this.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Do I just need to wipe the phone 5 times over before I flash this ROM? I'm helpless with this issue. I'd really like to use this rom.

Did you check the md5sum of the ROM to ensure a good download? It is really necessary because of the size of the file. Have you tried changing the kernel settings in the KTweaker app? Try changing the scheduler to noop and the governor to adaptive.

I did verify the md5sum. I've never messed with any kernel settings in the past. Once my phone is charged, I'll go ahead and flash it again and give this a try. Thanks!

Different phones like different settings. I did not change the default of the kernel, I left it as the Dev (ktoonsez) had it. Mine does not like the stock setting either. I provided you with the settings I use. But the good thing is the Dev has provided us with a ton of options. Those two settings (governor and scheduler) impact the kernel the most, the others are fun to play with, but ALWAYS have a nandroid before you mess with the kernel.

Alright, so I flashed the ROM again. And as I was setting it up, it rebooted itself again. Anyways, I got to the ktweaker app and set the GPU governor to adaptive, and the i/o scheduler to noop. It's been roughly 5 minutes and no reboot yet. I will post if I have any other issues. I'm not too into tweaking things at this level, so I am very unfamiliar with this app and it's potential. Definitely seems to have a BUNCH of settings in there.

The kernel is essentially the brain, it makes the decisions and gives different things priority. It's amazing what a little tweaking in there can do. I believe there is a tutorial somewhere for the app. Give me a minute and I'll see if I can find the link.

Thank you again, that thread looks extremely useful. I will read it over. Just to let you know, I connected my phone via bluetooth to my laptop, and sent a file from my laptop to my phone. As soon as it sent, the phone rebooted again. The file sent successfully, so I don't know why that happened. I might find something in that thread you linked to help me with it. Also, I opened gallery to check a screenshot I took, and gallery force closed. Opened it again, and everything was blurry for about 3-5 seconds, then fixed itself.

On that note, here is the screenshot I took. Now, I don't think you'll be able to help me with this, as my situation is a bit different than most, but I figured I'd ask anyways since you reply very quickly. I'm currently serving overseas, so I do not have a cellular network. I connect my phone via wifi, and use it for music, facebook, and web browsing. I have this "System Update" notification that does not clear, and when I click it, nothing happens. Is this some OTA notification? Can I turn it off?

Umm I've never seen that. What you can do is long click it, then hit "App Info", then hit "Force Stop". I would also recommend turning off Mobile Data, it is only draining your battery, as you don't have service.

lol... I should have tried that before asking such a mundane question. Alright, this should hopefully be my last question, unless I run into some ROM breaking issues. My wifi seems to only be scanning 2.4ghz now, and not 5ghz. Is this due to the kernel as well?

Edit: Also, that app that was causing the system update notification was "SyncMLSvc"

I'm honestly not sure, I didn't touch anything having to do with Wi-Fi. It should work the same as stock.
