When you reboot to recovery dont use the option in recovery. Remove your battery or hold power down to shut it off before rebooting.

Thanks, I just attempted this again and it still hangs at the boot animation. What recovery and version of recovery are you using? I want to use known working configs because this is driving me up a wall.

Maybe I missed it... There are a lot of pages here... But can someone please give me the fix for the absolutely awful battery drain. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan
I'm unsure what you have attempted, but I first installed 8.2 two days ago and it wiped my battery in less than 6 hours. I then setup Greenify in xposed, and am back to a normal battery life. 6 hours, mostly idle, 30 minutes of music, 85% life remaining.

At the time I was using Phil's recovery but I no longer have that phone.
One other note, if you are coming from a Lolipop rom or a CM rom you have to wipe your internal storage. Make a backup to your PC first.

Thanks guys for the help and advise. I ended up flashing back to latest stock firmware then back to Wicked x and it worked. The original Freedompop rom and the custom rom did not like each other. I did use TWRP recovery for the process without issue. I found that this was a little too customized UI for my taste and trying out Wicked X Bare Bones Wicked S5 Xperience now. Just wanted to say thanks and share my method to success.

Be patient. First boot takes about 10 minutes. I got spooked the first time installing that ROM. It all worked out.

Do a clean flash instead of flashing over, you most likely didn't have enough system space. Also check the md5sum of the ROM to ensure you got a good download.

Well I did do a complete clean flash but I didnt check the md5sum of the ROM. how do I go about doing that?
Download md5sum checker and make sure the output is the same as the one on the download page.

uhm back again...I have a issue with this rom and playstore (I Think) every time I download something and it finishes it either redownloads over and over or simply tells me I cant install. Thus making me have to clean playstore cache and retstart phone every time

Try wiping cache and data for play store. That's not a common issue. Make sure your internal storage isn't full.
