    Test Overclock Kernel !

    Hi!

    UPDATE : 05/06/2012 - Test kernel for all TI OMAP !

    Test 3 zImage => http://www.2shared.com/file/I_BntmLe/zImage-3.html

    zImage test 3 :
    - improve overclock in OMAP4430 -> now seem to be stable all oc frequency ! Now, the max. overclock frequency work well and will NOT underclocked your device !!! ( wait some test with OMAP4430 stock 1GHz & 1.2GHz )
    - for OMAP4460 - enable 1.6GHz ;

    Screensave : TI OMAP4430, stock 1.2GHz :
    Overcloked to 1.4GHz :

    Overclocked to 1.35GHz

    The Test 3 zImage - seems to be the best overclock kernel ( until now ) - Only for OMAP4430 !!! So, please flash this kernel if you want a stable and fast overclock kernel !
    The Test 9 zImage - seems to be the best overclock kernel ( until now ) -> TI OMAP4460 & TI OMAP4430 !!! So, please flash this kernel if you want a stable and fast overclock kernel !

    UPDATE 18/06/2012 :

    OC = 1.4GHz;

    The new max. entry => 2684 for TI OMAP4430 on 1.4GHz !!!!
    Test 8 zImage - now seem to be enable more freq. in OMAP4460 !!!
    zImage => http://www.2shared.com/file/fkdwHlh4/zImage.html

    Frequency :

    TI OMAP4430 ( stock 1.0GHz) => 300 -> 600 -> 800MHz -> 1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.2 -> 1.3 ->1.35GHz
    TI OMAP4430 ( stock 1.2GHz) => 300 -> 600 -> 800MHz -> 1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.2 -> 1.3 ->1.35 -> 1.4GHz
    TI OMAP4460 ( stock 1.2GHz) => 350 -> 700MHz -> 1.0 -> 1.2 -> 1.4 -> 1.5 -> 1.6 -> 1.7GHz
    TI OMAP4460 ( stock 1.5GHz) => 350 -> 700MHz -> 1.0 -> 1.2 -> 1.4 -> 1.5 -> 1.6 -> 1.7 -> 1.75 -> 1.8GHz

    Please , do not use 1.8GHz - seem to underclock your device !!!
    Thanks for testing !

    The best Overclock Kernel Test 9 zImage , source2 ( TI OMAP4430 & TI OMAP4460 ) !!!

    I'll give it a go.....it would be nice if it worked but if it wont then i have other devices that will do the job...... it just would be nice to get most things/requirements into one device....

    thanks anyway

    Surdu, just want to make it clear on step about choosing frequency. On the initial boot, i will choose the default Frequency (which is 1Ghz for my g9) then after that, i will reboot it then choose the max frequency that i want to use. Am i correct? thanks!

    Hi !

    Yes , good !!! but attention ...allways when you choose overclock max. frequency , do not check " Apply On Boot" !!!

    Thanks for the reply.. on last question, what is the reason why can't we apply on boot for the Overclocked max frequency?

    Hi!

    - choose the desired frequency , but not overclocked ! ( when will boot - will open with the selected frequency , so please choose max. frequency = your max. stock frequency )

    - if your device has stock max. freq. = 1.2 GHZ , when you choose "applay on boot" the max. overclock freq. = 1.44GHz , than the device will boot with this frequency ( or the device may not boot )
    Forcing a hazardous on boot is not recommended , can damage the device in a manner irreparable !!!

    HI !

    Known issues:
    - On ICS hiding bar will reset your wallpaper to default.
    Live wallpapers don't have issues. You can use "simple image wallpaper" from market to solve this problem.
    - On ICS hidden bar might reapear on some ROMs
    - There is no issues on Honeycomb.

    Please install SuperSU , should be fix your problem , let me know if it work !

    Hi,

    After the Benchmark test I appear in the list at the last :confused:
    I have a stock processeur @1.0Ghz with this rom without overclock.

    So, can you confirm this for me, If I want to make a "clean" install, I had to:
    * Boot in SDE
    * Reformat Device
    * Reboot in SDE
    * Install Archos 4.0.6 Official (firmware_archos_it4.aos)
    * Reboot and copy "archos.ext4.update" on /storage (this Rom)
    * Reboot in SDE -> Flash kernel & Init Frams
    * Copy Files -> Ok -> Reboot
    * Restore with Titanium Backup ...

    Am I right ?

    Thanks again

      Hi,
      very good to see a ROM for the Archos 101! I nearly lost all hope that the Dev's will work on a rom!

      So on what are you working right now? What are your targets?

      I will test the rom on the weekend!

      Hi !

      Thanks !

      ....sorry ! ....for moment "work in front of the TV" - " can not miss a match in European Football Championship" :D:D:D
      - I'll continue after the end ! Good luck !
      2
      3 times

      Cannot upgrade. Always stuck at Archos logo.
      Already revert to stock, and tried it again.
      Also re-download all files ...
      I must doing something wrong. But this is not my first upgrade.
      Well ... I'm going to do it all over again :)

      me too butt now works, 3X dwnl 5X flash and waiting:eek:.
      2
      You misunderstood me again ;)

      All i ask is if stock rom is just using 1 core ? So i now can use both cores with ur Stweak?
      So why does Archos sell it as a Dual Core Model :))))

      ---------- Post added at 08:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ----------

      Btw: In Governor i cant choose Freqs > 1.6 GhZ Any idea why?

      Hi !

      This time you not understand me !

      Ok ! I have to explain again :

      - so we know, the only Governor which work with two core is hotplug ! - but also other Governor can work with both core !!! - the problem is here -> hotplug has the ability to turn of a core when it's no need !!! - the other Governor have not ability to turn the same core on !!!! - all this is valid in any rom !!!

      For example : - do not copy Stweak in init.d , go to No-frills CPU , choose frequency 1GHz, choose Governor = Ondemand , choose apply on boot , choose apply , and reboot your device ! -> go to Quadrant Standard -> System information -> and you will see : Cores : 1 ; Cores available to Java : 1

      Now , please copy Stweak in directory init.d/ -> reboot your device -> go to No-frills CPU -> choose frequency 1GHz, -> Governor Ondemand -> check apply on boot ON -> check Apply -> reboot your device -> Go to Quadrand Standard -> System information -> you will see : Cores : 2 ; Cores available to Java : 2

      Do you understand me NOW ?

      max freq is 1.74 not 1.5 when using test4 oc kernel

      I wrote little script to follow my frequencies while stability testing. This is what I did. Installed test4 -> copy test4 root img -> remove kernel -> test4 root kernel -> reboot -> testing -> oc kernel -> testing. First I run some testing on test4 root kernel. Here
      test4rootslice.png

      Everything looks ok to me.
      Then I flashed oc kernel and things started looking more interesting.
      test4ocslices_stabilitytest.png

      I installed no-frills cpu control and it show my max cpu speed to be 1.5Ghz and so do "cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq". Even when both these show 1.5GHz for some reason when I run something heavy the cpu goes up to 1.74GHz So that's the problem I think.

      Here is the full screens of my script running if they are any use to you and the script in attached files. Hope this helps to narrow it down :)
