Upgrade from previous CrashXXL ROM

Unlike the original CrashXXL ROM, you cannot upgrade the previous ROM to this latest ROM via a dirty flash, otherwise you will end up in a boot loop.

You MUST wipe /data prior to upgrading and so you will have to re-install all your apps. Note that you can retain your internal storage partition.

It is a PITA, but not particularly surprising given the switch from RETLA to RETEU.

WiFi and GPRS are both functional after the upgrade. Dual SIM is still supported.

Sytem version is 25.221.9 after the upgrade.

Magisk 14.0 passes SafetyNET without requiring any additional modules. Also, PlayStore certifies the device once the data caches have been wiped and services restarted. :good:

SafetyNet-Test of Magisk only worked for 2 days and the Flashlight gesture is also not working anymore. Am I the only one facing this?

Edit: I was so dumb an installed Xposed...after uninstalling both are working now!

Yes and no. Probably best described as modified stock, rather than custom.

It is designed to be installed via TWRP 3.1.1. You MUST wipe /data prior to installing, so you will have to reinstall you apps.

If you don't know what TWRP is then you need to do some research elsewhere on this forum first!!!

Your phone MUST be unlocked as a first step before attempting anything else. This unlocking procedure WILL wipe your phone, but you only ever have to do it once!

I would strongly advise getting TWRP working on MM6.* first, before proceeding with this N7.0 ROM upgrade. Then take a full TWRP backup to extSD so that if anything goes wrong, you can always recover to a working MM6.* system. Note that TWRP does NOT require root, however, you will need a PC with ADB installed to install TWRP on your phone.

The most likely issue with the N7.0 upgrade, if any, would be with the radios.

Note that I can only vouch for the XT1580 EU, not the XT1581, although the first page does mention the XT1581 CN.

This is definitely fixable, as I have come across this in the past. I found a solution on Google, although I cannot remember the specific details. Likely to do with the PlayStore service data cache that requires deleting (resetting).

If not that, then it maybe concerned with certain folder permissions.
