Hey guys,

I just bought an used Xperia Z (C6603) yesterday that shipped with 4.3 Stock rom and the CPU overheated too much on any use (browsing, camera, gaming...) plus the battery drained quickly.

I was thinking to update to 4.4.3, 4.4.4 or 5.0 Stock but saw People saying it's worst so I am thinking to switch to LineageOs for the first time of my life, I just want to know a couple of things before jumping to LO:

If I switch to LineageOs do I lose Sony specific options and features like Stamina Mode for battery saving???

If I switch to LineageOs would I be able to return to the stock rom like if nothing happened??

If I switch to LineageOs would I notice that the overheat or draining is gone or would it become worst??

If I switch to LineageOs would I be able to install ANY available app for my phone in Play Store??

Please someone reply as this is my only and main phone that I use daily. I'd be happy to join you and test daily to report back.

If you bought a "new" phone, it is likely that phone has flat / dead / bad battery because it wasn't used for like 3 years (production stopped at that point) straight.

My advice is to change battery. Also, please flash the latest stock ROM and then switch to LineageOS.

Yes with opengapps, you can use Play store with LineageOS.

I am really surprised to hear that I'll lose Stamina Mode as it helped increase battery life.

Where can I get the last Rom??? Update on phone doesn't give more than 4.3.

A bit of google and search on xda forums will help you find relevant roms or any other issue solution. Don't feel shy to use search its free!!!!!

logcat for broken facebook videos

The voip (Viber/Facebook/Whatsapp) problems should be gone in the new build too.

facebook started: 22:09:26
facebook 1st video: 22:09:50
facebook videos broken: 22:14:19
(i don't know the dmesg-timestamps for that but i booted the phone just a few seconds before the start of facebook)

i saw a stacktrace at 22:14:13, so maybe that's the cause!?

Though I feel that the problem is related to some encryption (which Facebook uses for sending data). So possible, it is not related to us, but I remember I've to update DRM blobs too which will be on next build. If it doesn't work then, probably its the app

EDIT: Progressing with DRM blobs, everything looks nice at the moment, will release in 2-4 days for testing.

You should at least clear Dalvik/ART cache and /cache after flashing. Better is it to do a factory reset.

As good for gaming as every other ROM here. There will be very little difference in 7.1 versions in gaming performance.

- Security patches till July 2017.
- Clean build, inclusive of all changes by LineageOS till yesterday.
- Includes DRM libraries, so please test @raShMan777
- All other standard bugfixes from cm-13.0 thread, all of them. YES, all of them.
- Attempt to fix a problem as told here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73250499&postcount=16)

Folks, this has been a year long journey for me, let's face it, I am learner, so I need your feedback here. Even a smallest problem (like force closes) will seen as long as you provide logs. Regarding stability, we're not pushing devices that reboot or mess up after some time. A lot of people are involved in completing this and I would like to thank all of them. And good feedbacks are welcome too, if it works for you

So, Netflix is not working because the device doesn't pass SafetyNet (and it won't ever, because I've included the su-addon).
If anyone of you can look around passing SafetyNet successfully with my sad patch in, you should get Netflix working

Magisk does the trick just add it to the hide list

@Daedroza I don't know how to provide logs so I'm gonna say it like this
I turn off auto-brightness, at the same brightness, sometimes it goes brighter, sometimes it goes darker
I don't know why but it's really irritating
I have to adjust the brightness quite frequently
