APKs unable to be opened with Package Installer

Hi,

I just installed this ROM with Gapps Nano 8.1 ARM.
Now I wanted to install MiXplorer via APK. But it says "cannot open file". When I do "open with" the package installer isn't even listed.
I checked the system apps and the Package installer is there.
I tried cleaning cache and force closing the Package Installer and rebooting however it's still not functioning.
The Google Play Store installs apps just fine. But I can't install apps via APKs.
Did anybody else have this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Open apk file from 3rd party file manager's may help you.. I too had this problem before, "MK Explorer" helps me

Have a problem with Youtube app. Videos are lagging on 720p 60 fps and 1080p, frame rate is extremely low. Sometimes I see strange video artifacts when video turns green. The same thing was on Resurrection Remix 6.0.0 but on Lineage OS 14.1 it worked fine. The internet connection is good, I have no problems with other apps. There is also no CPU or GPU overheat.
I tried to mess with kernel settings but it's no use. So, is it Youtube app or some kind of system issues?

Upd: I installed some older versions of Youtube app and the problem still exists. Those versions worked fine on LOS 14.1.

[…]do you think that reducing ZRAM could bring some benefit to the device?
I think the consensus is that the ZRAM settings are good as they are and that there is little to no improvement left. I think /sys/block/zram0/mem_used_total shows you the amount of ram used by zram, for me it's 128mb right now. So only if the 128mb would make a difference in throwing a process into ZRAM would cost performance. But for all other processes in the 400MB of ZRAM ZRAM speeds up the performance, otherwise they would need to load again. Usually that's a very good tradeoff.

You can try to use swapoff in root console and the output of "free" should show you if disabling ZRAM was successful. I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on disabled/enabled ZRAM, tbh.

I found a magisk module to kill ZRAM and I was wondering if it could be worth to improve the UI response and lags. At the present time my device has 400mb ZRAM, as per LOS kernel. I use a very little multitasking and idle RAM is almost 300mb right now.

Hi Flounderist / Daedroza:
Finally, I installed the ROM, and everything perfect. Any problem with the flashing with TWRP 3.2.1.
Very fast reboot, not significant heating and any relevant bug after some days of using.
Battery similar to previous ROM 7.1.2. Thanks for suggestion of Magisk, is the firts time that I have rooted with this
app and it has been very easy. For the moment, I don´t notice lags in the normal use of the device.
Thanks Daedroza for your job, after 5 years, this Xperia looks at first day.
Now ... waiting for Android P ... :) I have read about some developers test for this summer.
Regards,
