Welcome to DarkRoom Development, the home for DespairOS


DespairOS is based on 7.1.2 with full Substratum OMS 7 support. This ROM is tweaked with Bionic & Art optimizations & built with UBERTC.


Flashing Instructions:
1. Have latest Bootloader/Radio installed.
2. Flash ROM & Flash TWRP.zip
3. *Update* - Since May bootloader you need to flash the verifiedbootsigner-v3.zip provided by @Chainfire (Does not apply to bootloaders older than May.)
4. Reboot to Recovery
5. Flash recommended Dynamic Gapps
6. Proceed to Boot ROM
7. Profit...
*If SIM is not detected after initial boot, reflash vendor.img

*Device Specific*:
Pixel XL=Sharkey Kernel

Basic Features:
Notification and battery LED
Night Light Brightness
Advanced Reboot

Thanks for sharing this lightweight, fast ROM.

I flashed it on my Pixel XL that has no SIM, so of course I got a no SIM error.
Looks nice. Anything you need tested while I have it installed?

Are you using April bootloader? Did you flash VBS zip? Or is the rom come with its own signature.

I think I'm on the "O" May release.
I don't know what VBS zip you're talking about.
The May bootloader now checks for a signature in the boot image , unless the boot image is signed. So you either have to have a signed custom rom boot image, run the April bootloader or use Chainfires VerifiedBootSigner-v3.zip.

Lightweight Stock with full oms support, more then enough to call it"special"

Please provide more info, like provider, what you flashed, etc.
I flashed to stock may, flashed aprils bootloader, wiped and flashed rom and recovery, booted back to recovery to flash gapps, then booted. Setup with no sim went fine, just can't get it to recognize, i'm on tmobile.
