Anyone use this ROM as their daily driver?
If so, could you give me some input on stability?
All the Quark ROMs are stable, I've been using this for a while, several other users have too. Some people like to bounce around and use all the available ROMs.

If you like using themes, AOKP and crDroid have OMS/Substratum support, I don't know about other unofficial ROMs. So flash it, test it, form your own opinion :good:

Nepo

Awesome. Thanks for the input.
I'll definitely give it a try when I've got some more free time.
Still on CM13 atm.

Congratulations for a truly amazing rom man, running buttery smooth in the latest build. Solid daily driver for my needs. :D

I am having a problem with enabling "OK GOOGLE" anytime. It is grayed out saying "not available for my device."
Help?
You have 2 options to solve that:

1) Install the google search app as a system app.
2) Install the stock opengapps package, or other version that includes the google search package via twrp recovery.

I was getting an error (Cannot mount /modem) when I tried to restore my backup or flash new rom. When booting, droid stuck on AOKP animation.
With nothing to lose, I used twrp file manager to delete /modem. Restore worked and I'm back in action. Still walking a tightrope with no USB. Is OK google anytime working in this rom or is it just me?
when you get that error restoring a TWRP backup (modem) just don't restore modem. its not typically wiped anyway. if you want to be sure you wont have connection issues/GPS issues, flash bhb27's clear modem zip. also, if you just really want to restore another modem, the other trick is to reboot recovery and upon reboot precisely and quickly deselect everything except modem for restore, and swipe Restore. 2 seconds tops. if it says the same failed to restore modem, try a different backup. if you need a modem only backup, let me know which one ya want. su 44, su 49, and 2......(whatever newest turbo firmware is) i have all 3 backed up.

when i clean flashed the last AOKP, literally i thought that was what had happened. it took forever. after i wiped and reflashed and was patient for 5-10 min, she booted up better than ever. i cant speak to the "usb failure" because i am not sure if youre saying your actual charge port is bad or that the phone says it has a usb error, but im more than happy to try to help.

Thanks for all the support. I won't mess with modem anymore. Don't expect any problem. Don't know why a clean install also had the problem.
USB problem seems to be a flash problem on phone USB chip. When I plug into PC, I get the error on my PC that the phone is not supplying it's USB identifier. Phone charges ok on USB.. Maybe it's connector pins, but the PC seems to know something is plugged in. I'm going to try fixing the "OK Google" anytime.

Ok, I am having problems downloading the latest nightly from the basket build that you have linked. I will keep trying.

I have a question about installing the nightlys. A dirty install (just clearing cache and dalvic, not the system, and not having to redownload/reinstall Gapps) is fine?
Thx

1) Try reinstalling the Motorola USB drivers on your PC. Can't hurt.

Motorola Device Manager contains USB drivers and software to connect your Motorola phone or tablet to your computer using a USB cable.

2) Try a different USB cable. Just to test. I've had cables go bad, just suddenly for seemingly no reason. "It CAN'T be the cable!" It was the cable.

Ok, neporood, I just reread your post. You said you have nothing to do with the nightlys. How/will this affect you doing your updates? Are you still doing them?

What is the main differences between your updates and the nightlys (if you continue doing them)?

I did notice the first nightly that I installed (1-9) over your build was a whole lot larger.

Do you think I should reinstall your build (I am on Verizon's xt1254) or continue with the nightlys?

Thx.☺

I will still be posting regular updates here, as for using my local build or the nightly, that's totally up to you. We are using same device trees, only the nightlies have all the apps I removed (hence the size difference)

The main reason behind the nightly build it to test code changes for all devices, we have to make sure builds continue to work. If an error is encountered, we are the first to know :good:

Even though I run 2 or three builds a day myself, lol

Not only are Nepo's builds slimmer with less built in apps, they includes gems like exclusive sexy wallpaper, like this

tried these....no go. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware prob. I'll pull it apart and see if I can resolder the pins (in case something broke loose.) More likely it's a problem with the USB chip in the droid. Not going to spring for a new motherboard. I'll just live with it.
Big issue now is "OK Google" I tried making google search a system app, and that made it work most of the time. Still did not work when system is sleeping (black screen.) I then tried installing stock gapps. Very nice with pixel launcher (with weather) and google now, but almost does not do OK Google at all???? Yes it installs google search as a system app, but not as effective as when I did it myself? Any more ideas?

Flashlight

Hey Neporood,

Thanks for the great work! The rom and installation instructions are awesome. It is great to be running N on the Turbo and be free of Big Red. It is certainly not critical but something isn't working is the flashlight. Clicking the icon from the top edge pull down just doesn't do anything. What needs to be done to enable VoLTE?

When the screen is off, the voice function is a hit or miss in my experience, but I don't have any problem triggering the search app in any screen when the phone it's in use.

Flashlight working fine for me too, using QS tile or chop chop. VoLTE probably won't happen, bhb doesn't have Verizon and I don't have the experience.

Flashlight

It switches on and off with a third party app. Apparently that has cleared something. The button on the QS tile has now become active.

When Nougat was first released for Quark, I had to delete something in build.prop to get the Kodi app to stream to Chromecast. Later builds of RR worked without any tweaks, but since I've flashed AOKP, I have the original problem of not being able to cast from Kodi. The problem I have now is I can't for the life of me figure out where I read what to delete in build.prop.

I'm not sure the issue is even the same, but the symptoms certainly are so I'm assuming the line I originally deleted in N ROMs is present.

My question is, does anyone know what to delete in build.prop to get Kodi to cast to Chromecast? (Other apps work) Or is anyone else using Kodi+Chromecast and it works?
