I have a 60" TV in my work room, so that's where I do my Netflix and YouTube watching, lol. I only tested apps for a bit...

Let me see what I can come up with, and I'll give you something to test
And . I have NO issue testing anything. I'm very confident of being able to get out of bad situations because of all of the tools you guys give us. So, no worries on my end. And if I nuke it, no worries, if it helps the community here.

OK, so, I asked my friend, @G.M.L, to make us an AOKP theme for TWRP....

Oh yeah, He Did IT, and did it right!!

Download

Don't thank me, thank him :good:

EDIT:
Download, rename it from "AOKP" to "ui". then place inside: TWRP/theme folder (if this folder doesn't exist, create it)

Actual Path:
Code:
data/media/0/TWRP/theme/ui.zip

Nepo, I tried your new ui. I know nothing about what I am doing.(Got that out of the way?). I put it in the folder like you said to do (followed your path in file manager) and did nothing else except to boot into twrp. The first picture came up, but not the other two. Twrp menu never appeared.

Even after waiting ten to fifteen minutes. To get back to my starting page, I had to turn the phone off and then back on. I finally went back into root explorer and deleted the file from the theme folder. That put things back to normal with twrp.

I did not do an install via twrp. Was I supposed to?

Thx. Your Rom is working great for me.

GML is an above average themer, lol. If you look at the first pic, you'll see the little arrows near the bottom, they both point to the logo. Use these (by tapping) to get to the menu options :good:

"Ok google" status. With 1/16 update, it seems to work much better. Used std gaps. Now saves voice training ok. Still does not work on lock screen, or in sleep.

Anyone have trouble with the Menu button line not appearing in Titanium Backup using this rom (Jan 16 version)? There's no way to access the Menu features of the program.

That was actually discussed a few pages back (couple weeks ago?). I don't remember exactly which button. If you click on the "problems" button that pops up, then "preferences" button, I think the menu button opens up. But, that was not the "answer" to fix the menu button not appearing.

Go into settings> Rom control> hardware buttons> home button> then assign long press to it. See if that opens it up to the menu?

Might be other ways to open it, too? Those are the two that were discussed, I think.

It's actually the RECENTS button we discussed. The Home button (long press) is usually for Google Now/OK Google search. But long press of the Recents Button can be turned into app menu button.

Thx, ChazzMatt, that did work.

See this post.

Thanks...that worked...annoying issue, but at least there's a workaround...

Experience with latest ROM

Thanks AOKP and Nepo for this ROM. It runs silky smooth and has breathed new life into a great piece of hardware. Truth be told, it runs better now than when it was new!

The flashlight issues mentioned in a previous post are gone and there is no phone crash on start up. It is not possible for me to say if this is due to the rom or the choice of gapps. The previous install was with stock gapps whereas this one was with nano. Regardless, smaller is better for choice and for memory usage. Hope this helps anyone considering flashing this rom.

Anyone having issues with this rom and Skype notifications? I can't get Skype notifications of new messages to appear in my feed. Skype itself works, but nothing appears on the feed even when I have new messages. I checked the Skype settings and all the notifications are turned on.

That's a stock feature, but @bhb27 made his own app called: TurboToast, which can be added to the ROM, find a link in Post #2 on the first page of this thread, or search XDA for it :good:
