Thanks for your message!

Quick question, my headphones are no longer working. Is this a known bug or did my jack die?
I can confirm the heat thing. I was playing Star Trek timelines this morn ing, and was only 10 min playing and I could feel my case getting extremely hot

For all XT1254 Owners:
If you want the latest modem, Flash the kernel and modem zip in TWRP From @TheSt33v here https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/rom-mcg24-251-5-5-100-stock-t3565795
AFTER YOU FLASH THE ZIP REFLASH AOKP AND GAPPS IMMEDIATLY AFTER. THE FILE CONTAINS THE STOCK ROM KERNEL AND REFLASHING AOKP WILL REPLACE THE KERNEL BACK TO NOUGAT KERNEL.
Wipe Cache/Dalvik and reboot. You will now be updated

idk if its just me, but on latest build, i cannot seem to disable press power twice for camera. when you have a wonky (virtually unresponsive) power button, that option sucks. lol. thank you for the continued hard work, Neepers. ;)

My headphones don't work either, but, I have not done a clean install (did a dirty install only the last couple of updates). I may do that later on sometime, but not now.
Did you do a clean install before trying it?

yes, I just unlocked the phone. It was on stock until yesterday. I tried with a different pair and it works fine. Not sure why.

Also, how's battery life for you guys? My phone is draining fairly quick, but then again it's an old device.

Mine drains pretty quickly when in use, I think, but, as you said, my phone is also two and a half years old, too.
I just keep it charged up as much as possible (on the charger).

Yep, that's a bug. It's "working", however the slider animation isn't :silly:

If you tap the option once, then back out, it'll be on or off (depending on what you're trying to do :good:)

Thanks

I flashed the modem zip that's on the second post and then rebooted back into Android. Did I do it wrong? Is that zip outdated?

Thanks

I'm too lazy to check what zip that is, but if your not sure flashing again won't hurt

I flashed the modem only zip and it showed that all went well in TWRP. I wanted to check to make sure in my about phone settings. From what I've gathered the baseband version will have three digits at the end signifying what radio you're using. Quark's updated radio with software versions went as follows: .02R (.44 software) to .03R (.49 software) to the latest marshmallow update of .04R. From what I understand if the end of your baseband version says .04R it worked. I could be totally wrong here and am halfway posting this to be corrected if I am.

You have the latest modem then. You're all good.

Public Service Announcement - Most Recent Modem.

I've been running this ROM for a while, but prior have tried some others. Didn't even dawn on me to check the modem, etc. With the last update my screen notifications have become a bit wonky, but not a problem. With the recent posts I checked and found that was running .02R. WTF? I was sure I updated this.

So, I did update it to .04R. All is well and nothing seems to have changed. Except, the screen notifications are working perfectly now. Again, WTF? I have no clue why this would impact that, and am not asking anyone to think about it.

The PSA part - check your stuff! Make sure all the background stuff is up to date, be clean, follow directions closely, drink milk, and so on. I have to remind myself of these things from time to time and it is easier than trying to "fix" something that may not be broken.

END of PSA. Carry on.

Just FYI:

There's a lot of things going on right now. With the AOKP team, their lives, my life, and other crap, lol. I'm working on the next update, but I'm not going to do a public release until we have "rootless" Substratum (OMS) working. For now, stick with the current build and don't upgrade to Subs 60x

If you have "auto update" turned on in Play, turn it of, for now anyway. You can find older versions of Subs on mirror sites, I'm using v563, if it upgraded on you already. There's also some useful info in their thread, start Here

We'll get everything lined out, don't worry.

Thanks for Your Patience,
Nepo

I've .03R, any directions for TWRP flashable for .04R? Many thanks in advance.
If ".04R" is the Droid Turbo XT1254 radio that came with Verizon MCG24.251-5-5 firmware...

  1. download the modem. (see link below)
  2. boot into TWRP
  3. flash ("install") the modem
  4. for good measure, flash ("install") @bhb27 "clean modem" zip.
  5. reboot.

In TWRP, you can do steps #3 and #4 consecutively by choosing both files at the same time, in the order you want them flashed.

MCG24.251-5-5 100% Stock
Flash with TWRP.
By popular demand, here are just the modems:

Thank you. I've updated the modem to v04R. On version 02R and 03R, I frequently spotted phone signals getting lost for few seconds and then come back again on its own...I tried the modem cleaner several times with both versions to no avail. Let's see if the 04R version is any different.

Is it the Nougat ROM acting naughty or something else?

I upgraded my modem to 04r. The voice settings now says I can enable OK GOOGLE anywhere even when screen is off, but it doesn't work. Only responds when screen is on.
