Touch screen performance is driving me crazy. I'm not sure it's ROM related but the problem is very pronounced on this ROM. When I play Fieldrunners HD the screen touch performance goes insane, it will drop things before I release contact with the screen and will act as if I'm pinching to zoom when I'm only touching one spot.

Now for the troubleshooting...I installed a couple multitouch apps and they show that the screen is working fine initially. However, when I start Fieldrunners then switch to the multitouch apps they report all kinds of crazy results. They report two and three touches when I'm only touch it once and at other times it will show only one I have multiple fingers on the screen.

I installed this with the recommended Kernel and everything is a virgin setup. Any ideas?
Hmm sounds more about a defect device :/ Try flashing Stock ROM + Stock Kernel and if the issue is still there then it comes from your device.

Just got my Nexus 7 yesterday, wasn't sure if I even wanted to root + flash a custom ROM, but I finally decided to do it a little bit ago. I chose this ROM because I wanted something just as smooth as stock, but with some extras.

Installation was a breeze, used the recommended Kernel, and I'm excited to test this rom to its limits. Good job so far!
Then you have chosen the right ROM :) Thanks you :D Stay tuned, I'm releasing Version 2.2 soon :D

I would agree except I've had it almost two months and this was never really an issue. I had the occasional glitch that I attributed to minor lag in a couple games but nothing like this. I'm going to flash a few different kernel and ROM combinations (including going back to stock) to see if I can pinpoint the cause. I went with the motley kernel on this install, so I will start by trying the others on this ROM.

I'm also stuck on the Google screen. I wiped everything like I've always done when installing a new ROM. It's somehow deleted my recovery because I can no longer access it. Guess I have to push it manually, has this happened to anyone else?

How did you wipe your data? Yeah flash it back but it has nothing to do with me if it is erased, it is something you've done wrond on your side :p

I formatted Data, system, cache, and wiped Dalvik. Yeah I understand it's one of those weird things that happens. Happened on my Amaze 4G once. I was on Paul's ROM but I'm eager to try this one out :)

Hmm another fix you could try is to go into fastboot and from your computer type :

fastboot format system
fastboot format userdata
fastboot format cache
fastboot flash recovery CustomRecovery.img
then go into recovery and push back my ROM :
adb push SmoothROM.zip /sdcard/

Hi
At a guess its something to do with Pauls ROM, not that it bad, just its making the cross over bad.
I was on Pauls and tried this one but no matter what I got stuck on Google boot.
Had to flash back to Paul and then to another ROM, I would have tried this one again but I am away for next 4 days and need my TAB up and running.
Hope to try this one again when I am back.

Just had a thought, there is a guy who does SGS3 roms (Mike1986) he has a super wipe app that really wipes your phone, maybe something like that would get rid of any cross over ROM issues.

No problem :)

Well, I would recommand you to stick on my fastboot method please. If you erase the boot partition, the ROM wont boot because the kernel will fails to install (even if it says success). The only way to fix that if your boot partition is erased is to flash any kernel from fastboot then install the rom. 'fastboot flash boot kernel.img'

This ROM has no reboot menu to boot to recovery?
No, but a program like ROM Toolbox works great.

Well I flashed back to the Stock Kernel and so far it's working much better. I'm going to test it for a couple more hours.

Another general observation is that while my benchmarks were much faster on the custom kernel the general tablet use feels more responsive and consistent on the stock kernel. This may just be some type of placebo affect but so far so good.
