Okay, when i install the this recovery here i can access the data, but crdroid still wants to erase all my data...
On stock rom, twrp-3.6.2_9-0-santoni and rooted with Magisk 25.2. Phone works fine. No encryption and no fingerprint configured (just pin). I specifically checked in settings and "encrypt phone" is not activated (and it never was).
Wiped absolutely everything from TWRP before flashing and I still get the "Encryption unsuccessful" message. "Encryption was interrupted and can't complete..." WTF? What encryption?
The only option is erase all data and this takes ages (after 5 minutes still not done).
Edit: 15 minutes and still not finished...
Edit 2: ok so after about 20 minutes it went briefly in TWRP then rebooted again... only to show the same error screen. Again, the only option is "Erase all data". Gonna do it one more time, then try a different rom.
Edit 3: I am very enthusiastic so I am going to post this here: I did try a different rom, because the second "erase all data" took me again to the same error. And this rom blew my mind... Admitedly, regarding crDroid, I might have messed somehing on my side - thus, the proverbial error "between the touch-screen and the chair"
. I might have not wiped/flashed (?) completely the card before installing, I only wiped Dalvik, casche etc the usual - not sure if that was the problem. But maybe the developers should give some more clear hints about what is needed.
However, for those looking for a good rom, I can suggest Havoc-OS-v4.16-20220423-santoni-Official-GApps.zip with twrp-3.6.2_9-0-santoni.img amd Magisk-v25.2 (magisk is downloaded as apk but for flashing rename to zip, works as both apk and flash image). This is an Android 11 rom but installed flawlessly, fast, with no problems and apparently everyhing works.

From my own experience you can update without any problems. But it's always more safe to backup before update no matter if you update Windows, Linux or Android device. That makes you 100% sure that even if something brakes you can go back to last working version.

There is a new version 7.28 released on March 26. Update from 7.25 wasn't butter smooth for me this time. Device entered boot loop but I've managed to sort it out by myself withhout reading any info how to do it. What did I do? I've stopped boot loop by pressing power button. Device entered by itself into OrangeFox recovery. There was a red colored error about cache partition problem. I've rebooted into Android, thankfully it worked. There was a info about failed update. I went into update app and made update file into zip. I've rebooted into recovery. In OrangeFox I've choosen update zip file and installed it. After it was finnished I've cleaned cache & dalvik as usual. Then I've rebooted and everything is OK with 7.28 installed.

- Clean flash with format data NEEDED for encryption users after 7.21+, also flash this zip after flash ROM.
Well, I don't have my device encrypted but for some reason there was a problem.

After crDroid 7.21+ and 8.8+, encryption users need clean flash ROM with format data, because encryption switched FDE to FBE for more comfortability and security. Your device is encrypted, need to do this.2
Recovery (like TWRP)
Recommended, if you see any issue use it.
Its your choice, if your need minimal gapps use core (recommended)2

I made two change in my system, I don't know which was the solution or both needed:
1.
Check all the other permissions that Android Auto might need. For me, the notification access permission was disabled for some reason, but Android Auto never took me to that setting until after I rebooted. There are instances where apps need some permissions toggled off then on again in order to work properly after an update. For instances, after updating LightFlow, the app gets me to toggle notification access off and on.

UPDATE: it is not enough alone! It needs flashing SafetyPatch v3!

- flash magisk

- Activate MagiskHide Probs Config
Well, I had already Magisk and enabled MagiskHide Probs Config! I disabled it, installed SafetyPatch v3 from Magisk and rebooted and enabled MagiskHide Probs Config.
After all I connected USB cable to my car and I could enable and stepped over the "Display over other apps" settings.2I installed the 7.1 on Santoni, and I say that it is PERFECT rom, 1% discharge over the night, fast, correct!!!

A big problem is that "Mobile network" greyed out in the settings! I just could switch on the Mobile data by pull down menu, but I had to search the "SIM" word in the menu because the mobile data didn't work I had to rest APN and I worked hard with switching on and off and after all it works and I have internet mobile data connection however the Mobile network is greyed out yet... Any idea?
One disappointment: Android Auto installed from Nikgapss and it is impossible to exceed the "Display over other apps" settings, though it is enabled or not it could not be step over this point... any suggestion?
