yep, just had the same experience..
Flashing the update was ok, but the it kept rebooting on twrp :(
here is the solution i found:
reboot in fastboot mode.
flash shrp instead of twrp (fastboot flash recovery shrp.img)
then reboot in recovery with power and vol+
now you can reboot normally, and the update is applied :)

Ok, this was the solution for me, thanks man!

I was unable to get out of recovery mode after updating as well. Booting boot.img from the 200730 rom g'ot me back into the phone. I manually installed the update and still got booted back into recovery. I was able to by using fastboot boot boot.img' (from the update zip). Should I just flash this boot img?

The other issues I'm aware of but the Screen mirroring (MiraCast) I can't test it. Can you send me logs ? It seems SELinux permissions, due to having SELinux in enforcing mode.

Hi,
My TV is LG WebOS and has built in Miracast Capabilibities and as another user reported it working fine in order to eliminate hardware specific issue, I did another test just with another Miracast capable device (Miscrosoft Surface hub) and it is behaving/failing the same. Maybe there was a confusion between Miracast WIDI and Chromecast as they are accessible from the same Android Menu.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with logs reporting. Any tips/tutorials? Should I connect ADB for that?

If it was me you're talking about, I choose "screencasting" or something from the quick settings drop-down menu, choose the Samsung TV, accept the connection on the TV, and then I see the phone screen on the TV without any problems.

Someone also asked me to configure a card on Google pay, which I did and it worked. I've yet to check whether contactless payment works, though.

I also got a reboot during the night while charging. If there's anything I can collect logs-wise please share!

I too have the same problem with occasionally reboots.
Since the 2020/08/18 update i also got 2 hard shutdowns, the phone was completely off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit:
Found out that those "hard shutdowns" in reality are "really slow wakeups". After pressing the power button it took 5sec until the lock screen popped up. After unlocking everything is snappy as it should.

I've seen these slow wakups as well. I thought it had to do with faceunlock that I have enabled.

hi.
It's been 2 days i've installed the 2020/08/18 update, over the 2020/07/30, and no crash.
Mostly, the the battery usage is way better !
Before the update, my phone ran out of juice in 48h top.
Now, after almost 48h, i still have 45% battery (with the same daily usage) :)

Did you flash vbmeta when install PE, just curious. I try to decide if I should flash it. Not want to flash anything unnecessary like to keep the ROM as secure as I can. Now my phone only boot into Fastboot.

Need to flash everything again.

Any noticiable bug? Wish to use for daily driver. FOD work?

I'm going to release a new version very soon with som fixes that community reported. FOD is working, but not 100% perfect, due to brightness trick. I'm going to tackle the FOD update on the next releases, so stay in touch to the CHANGELOG.
