@NoSpamDan bro I guess still the dialler issue is not sorted... Still it freezes often... I had to restart the device inorder to start dialling or receive calls. I'm in your latest build (07 May).

Ok... I need a lot more log than that to dig, though. Log to a file on a PC when booting, and keep logging until the crash. Also, please give your exact steps to reproduce, and carrier, SIM card type (eSIM or physical).

Thanks bro... I'm just a user of your amazing work.... That log wasn't from PC... It was taken while using the phone...

After making a call to a particular number while disconnecting the screen freezes in the dialler screen.... So I had to clear all recents to go back to home screen or any desired app.... Now I cant dial or receive any calls from anyone coz the dialler is still in the same frozen state.

Tried clearing memory, data & cache of the dialler....But still the problem persist. So m left with only one option to restart the phone so that I can receive or make a call to anyone else...

M using Jio - India. Physical SIM.

Hope you are clear :):)....

The log is like an automatic FC one we have in the ROM. It doesn't capture enough information sometimes, as is the case here; hence, I need a proper log.

Someone mentioned force closing the Contacts app as a workaround, I think?

Default apps are all set to the Dialer app?

I don't have a SIM for my sunfish, so a log is gold... 😇

If you are rooted you can leave a logging app running on the device when making and hanging up the call.

It's another way of saying you don't want to fix it. I get too many business calls to deal with this headache.

First of all, I never said that, so don't put words in my mouth. In fact, I've all but begged for logs... But instead I get complainers. Even some who came back to *****, and still no log 🤔.

Second, @Raj Pandiyan came close with abridged logs, but I need to see more than that, as I've said.

Finally, I don't have SIM service for my P4a. 🤨 I even tried to activate Fi to test and never received a phone number. I spend enough of my time and money to share Candy already.

Please note that this a development thread. Cheers!

I can do only this much.... And I can't use the rom as daily driver coz of this major bug... Now presently not using this rom as of now...

I know how difficult it will be for you but I got no other option bro... Got only this phone now unlike earlier.... So can't try unless I have free time to give you the log...

So I suggested you the dialler option...

    This is Candy 11 for the Google Pixel 4a device. Built straight from source with commits from a variety of different sources/ROMS. We wanted to give the users a fast, fun, fully customisable ROM, with regular updates and security patches.

    We do this as a hobby, and we happily share with with the custom ROM community, for free. We use what we share on our own devices, most as Daily Drivers, so you can be confident that problems will be promptly addressed.

    Make sure you are on the latest stable firmware available here

    1. If you're coming from another ROM:

    • Boot into stock bootloader. (Ensure you have the latest compatible bootloader and kernel on both slots)
    • Wipe data with
      Code: 
      fastboot -w
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Adb sideload the ROM zip (links are in 2nd post). GAPPS ARE INCLUDED.
    • Reboot


    2. If you're updating the ROM, there are a few ways to do this. Using the included Candy Updater, using TWRP recovery, or through ADB sideload (not detailed here).

    UPDATER METHOD
    • Go to Settings > System > Candy Updater
    • Select from OTA or local update file.
    • Flash ROM
    • IMPORTANT: If you want root, and have it already, use Magisk to patch the inactive slot before rebooting.
    • Reboot
    • Enjoy

    RECOVERY METHOD
    • Reboot to recovery
    • ADB Sideload the ROM zip file
    • Reboot
    • Enjoy


    NOTE:
    • If you have issues with Settings or Play Services force-closes you need to clean flash.
    • Please give first boot several minutes.
    • New additions and fixes being added constantly
    • If you have any other issue, please let us know in proper bug reporting fashion as indicated below.

    • Do NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed other third-party mods.
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
    Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved (and you won't be trolled or ignored XD ). Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    Sorry folks, my daughter now has my P4a, running stock AOSP. There have been a lot of life events for me lately: new job, family issues, health issues... so I have not touched Android 12 this cycle. I may do something when Android 13 drops, but it depends on free time and what's going on.
