Hi.
In my case, it's more like if some of the sound passes from the microphone to the ear speaker. It doesn't happen if I use the loudspeaker during the call. It's easy to reproduce, in my case, by scratching the mic while on a call
From what I've been reading, there are others with the same problem, even with other custom roms.

it can be solved. as far as I understand it is related to the kernel.

Yes, the kernel is also my first guess.
Do you also experience the GPS problem (only GLONASS and GPS signals are detected) and the pedometer not working?

It's the same for me. I can't hear my voice but just some sounds like scratching the microphone. In the last PE Plus with Android 11 it wasn't present. Just with the new Android 12. (I'm with the Plus edition)

I also have the same problem of audio return from the microphone, very annoying during calls, also I only have GPS and GLONAS signals.
Will the audio problem be solved? otherwise I will have to revert back to the original firmware.

to solve I flashed the A11 PE + (latest build available - discontinued)
no one seems to understand that maybe this bug is about A12, or some kernel..but I don't know about it
I just know that I have flashed everything new with A12 for our MI8..and they all have this issue

I had same issue with microphone. Brand new telephone (old new stock) and I did notice that gcam (MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix_MGC) had problem with autofocus.
I installed last 11+ version and telephone is working perfect. No more mic problem, photos are great, everything works like it is suppose to. Waiting for fixed 12+...

Specially when unlocking with the fingerprint or using the camera there's quite a lot of lag.

Of course, I've tried rebooting with no luck and I'm using the latest version (SP2A.220405.004

GPS problems should be an easy fix.
in your /system/etc/gps_debug.conf file change XTRA_SERVER entries to LONGTERM_PSDS_SERVER

Ps. In my case, I don't know why, I couldn't edit the file using a root explorer. Had to copy the file to internal memory, then edit file. After that I copied the file back to the original folder. To change permissions of the file to 644, I had to use Orangefox recovery. No root explorer could change file permissions!

I have the same problem sometimes when i try to post on instagram (i have to force stop the app). Or when i open Filmic Pro and from portrait i go to landscape. So i have to put the phone before in landscape and then i have to open the app.

Generally this Android 12 releases are very buggy.
The latest Android 11 releases were perfect!

Also having issues with Hotspot. The whole phone starts to get sluggish when someone is connected. Also can't turn it off manually or the settings app will crash. Gotta reboot or wait for it to automatically turn it off if noone is connected.
