I just installed this from a clean install (coming from PEX) and it works great! Nice and smooth, fingerprint reader works perfectly. Only a couple of issues:

The DOT Blog shows a screenshot of the battery manager with a smart cut off. I can't seem to find this.

Occasionally there are issues where the screen won't turn on after changing the AOD settings, but I'm not sure why. I'll experiment with this a little bit to see what the issue is

That sucks tbh. Was planning on flashing, changed my mind.
I just installed (full wipe) DotOS then installed this version of the OOS camera, and it seems to be working fine so far!

From my personal experience tho, GCam usually produces way better results, I only use the OOS camera for the pro mode.

Does macro mode work? I assume it doesn't.
Also I ended up installing dotos and stuff broke within a day or two. My navigation bar completely dissapeared and even the setting for it dissapeared. Low fps on the notification panel among a miriad of other issues. Would not recommend.
I liked the material you thing but it always went for very light and bluish accent colors for some reason. Sometimes they wouldn't even match the wallpaper.

I installed it like an hour ago my apps and custom configs are still downloading, but so far its smooth and my apps seems to be working fine.
I also installed the no-gapps version.

As for the Macro mode, the camera app isn't the latest version so there is no button for the special macro mode, but I tried switching to the ultra-wide lens and tapping to focus on a close subject and it did focus on it correctly.
So I guess its working, but you have to manually swap to the ultra-wide and tap/lock the focus on your subject.

I was using DerpFest before flashing DotOS, I copied the OOS APK they used so I can try it later on, its a newer version with the dedicate macro mode, Ill update you once I try it.

I read the thread you sent and it looks like they're sharing the op7p version. op7p doesn't support marco. The date of the release is irrelevant.
but I tried switching to the ultra-wide lens and tapping to focus on a close subject and it did focus on it correctly.
The stock macro mode zooms into the ultrawide a bit and it is not possible to do this with the stock app. Can be done with gcam though.

Wait... I'm using derpfest currently and the oos camera does not have macro mode. It seems to be the only ROM for me which has the op7p version of the opcam. How did you get macro mode on it? It has been this way for me over multiple reflashes and updates. Please share your apk.
I also installed the no-gapps version.
Ig you will have better luck with performance then.

So I guess what I tried was just close up focus not actual macro!

I did tinker a bit but I don't believe I did anything special, I am not sure if I installed a different version of the app tho!
Ill upload the version I copied (hopefully it'll work) but it might take a while as my upload speed is embarrassingly bad.

For me the difference in battery life with and without gms is massive I can't ignore it!

Try it. I didn't have a good experience but you may. Also it is not nearly as smooth as pe with worse battery life and imo the current implementation of material you sucks.
