It's safe to do a dirty update without cleaning or formating partitions?
The ROM works really nice, i don't want to broke something. I'm using Google versión, and have bad experiencia updating ROMs. For ex. Linageos.

I usually dirty flash and have no problems. You can clean flash if you prefer.

Yes, use gcam. It's very stable

Did u use the provided recovery?
Are you clean flashing? If yes, did you do:
advanced > format data > type yes.
If you're dirty flashing, gapps to gapps only possible

My biggest and only issue so far is that I cannot use Google Pay which is a big bummer - when I try to add a card, it says that the phone cannot be used for wireless payments due to root or similar reason. I just did a fresh clean install. Do you know what might be the problem and how to get around it?

Yes, today I tried to GooglePayWallet and now it's disabled. Now the phone doesn't have the requiriments.
On the previous versión 4.0.5 I was able to use Google Wallet NFC payments without problems.
The ROM still feeling great. The only regresión I see for the moment it's with NFC payments. Doing a dirty update of the ROM.
Next time i Will wait a few days more before update.

I'm using It It for a few weeks and THE battery drain it's very similar to the stock Xiaomi miui 12.1 with Android 11.
The only ROM that seems more battery efficient on my Mi9T was ArrowOS and even seems more fast. Still prefer CherishOS the global usage it's almost as good if not better than Xiaomi ROMs. Indeed the Fingerprint newer worked so fast and smooth, also with my bluetooth car conection. And Cherish has less bugs compared to ArrowOS.

Thaanks Rumais for the quick fix. The phone still says the phone doesn't meet the requiriments, but NFC and GooglePay works fine.
How it's suposed the theme coloring works? only noticed transparency with dark theme and White backgroud. Black, deault and Monet doesn't seems to change nothing.

Gapps or Vanilla? Vanilla is having some issues with monet, use repainter app for now. It will be fixed in source

Gapps dirty update, to 4.1 with TWRP manual update on this hotfix. I'll wait until a new OTA versión comes. Don't care about theming just was looking new options and see this behavior that I don't undestand. BTW Thaanks dude, nice ROM port.

Waze now doesn't works. It gest stuck when you put an address. Maybe it's relates with the new theme coloring.
