So i am on stock uptill now MHA-L29 8.0.0.376(C185) .. Can you please upload some screenshots? Also how do i get the stock camera app after flashing this rom
Yeah here are some screenshots. Honestly I might revert back to stock for now, I don't find myself wanting the features as much as I thought. Maybe further down the line I will come back to this rom.

There are some more bugs that I found which include the ambient display not working at all, youtube premium background play stops itself after a few minutes, as well as the smart pixel function giving me diagonal pink and green gradient across screen.

Battery life could be a bit better, but its good enough for a full day's use. I found it had drained 4 percent over a period of 7 hours, which on stock would have only been 1-2 percent. Not too bad but some more optimization couldn't hurt.

I couldn't help but also notice there is not face unlock option in the settings, even though there is a toggle to use it to unlock the phone. The Audio Fx app creates a distorted sound when turning up the bass, even by a little bit.

There aren't any big usability issues that I've noticed so far, and I have been able to make calls no problem.

Thanks for letting me know so far....definitely been working on trying to get some bugs out. Ya AudioFx appears to be doing that, so it will be removed from the next build.

Smart pixel function, as fair as I know isn't an option that should really work on lcd screens. I will double check that. As for your youtube problem, any chance you get try and replicate the problem and get some logcats at the same time? It's very hard to address and fix issues when I have no idea why its doing that. Thanks, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the great ROM. Working great so far. Personally found it more stable than the OpenKirin ROMs I've tried and everything is going great so far.
I found an issue though. Swipe fingerprint for notifications doesn't work. Would be great if it got fixed! I'm so used to swiping my finger on the fingerprint reader to see my notifications. But I cannot seem to be able to do it on this ROM (I found it in the settings, but there's no toggle to enable it)

Awesome to hear that you're enjoying the ROM so far. Please continue to provide feedback, good or bad with any of the features you test. I'm working on implementing fingerprint gestures.....The new build that is uploading currently has the initial framework, etc. but still needs a little work so hoping by the release after or the one after that it will be fully implemented and working.

Out of curiosity, what model # is your device?

Ahh, thank you!
Can't wait. I miss the gestures. But so far, I have no other reason to switch back to Stock so I guess I could do without fingerprint gestures for now.
I just hope the ROM stays stable and doesn't bootloop on me within a few days like ResurrectionRemix did :D.
I've also tried LineageOS before, but I had a bug where the audio in WhatsApp voice records would be extremely low. It works fine on this ROM. Idk if it's ROM-related, or the fix came from WhatsApp. Either ways, great ROM!
One note though, I've noticed that RAM usage is actually higher than it was on the stock ROM. On the stock ROM I'd usually have about 1.4 GB of RAM free most of the time. Now I'm having from 600 to 900 even though I have less apps installed.
I'm running it on MHA-L09C185. Was running C185B368 with August security patches before flashing.

Yeah, hopefully I will have the fingerprint gestures in soon enough. Depends on what RR Rom you are referring to. Cause this is the only ROM so far that I have released. lol

Could you share me a screenshot or two of RAM usage? And how many apps do you currently have insalled?

Unfortunately I have already reverted back to stock. I think I'm going to stay stock for a while for now. I had some files I had backed up that I needed asap. Maybe someone else can try and get a logcat on the YouTube background play issue.

I'll definitely come back in the future when I feel like I can. For now the mate 9 is my daily driver so stock is a nice reassurance.

Thanks for your awesome work keep it up!

Thank you

Hi,
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to test this rom at the moment. Hope to get into that in the next few days.
However, I want to say thank you in the name of all the community.
Really appreciate your time and great work.
Keep it on mate!

One small question. Huawei will probably not update this device to Pie (9.0).
Is Treble project means that we may be able to update with AOSP roms like yours?
Thanks again!

I was talking about RR from the OpenKirin project.
I'm not entirely sure if screenshots would be helpful since I'm talking about the meter in the Recent Apps screen. I have about 45 apps installed. I had about 100 apps installed on the stock ROM.
Either ways, I'm afraid I will be switching back to the stock ROM for now. The ROM runs smoothly so far and I'm not having any major bugs. But I miss the camera clarity and battery life of the EMUI ROM.
I've noticed a bug by the way. It seems that video recording only works on the camera app that came with the ROM. Recording videos on Snapchat does not work, and recording videos on the Huawei camera (installed through Magisk) does not work as well.
The battery life is also not as good as EMUI. But nevertheless, great ROM.
I guess I might go back to a treble ROM if an Android Pie one is released some day.

I was using this ROM couple days. it has a lot of cool stuff! I really like it.

But there are few things that annoying me.
1. Camera. I was even trying some magisk plugin which uses ported camera from P20. It works a little better, but not like camera from stock ROM.
2. I'm using Gboard and have two languages. When I'm trying to switch between languages, it switches from one language to another, but then it switches to swiftkeyboard. :) And then again switches to Gboard at first language.
3. Sound from internal speakers is just usual mono sound from bottom speaker. In stock ROM Mate9 has great sound in portrait mode and stereo sound in landscape mode.
4. Fingerprint sensor doesn't work for pull down menu and leaf through photos in gallery.

Also, I have a little latency after tapping at any position in menu. If I open settings and for example tap at "Display" it blinks in about half second and opens this option. In my opinion, stock Oreo ROM have a little more fast interface.

What I really like:
- Clock with date and seconds in status bar
- In and Out speed traffic in status bar
- Cool screen off effect like old TV
- Integrated dark theme
- Tons of properties for tuning almost everything.

Magisk 16.7 works just fine with this ROM. I've installed magisk right after flashing ROM so I've got root which I need for restoring apps from backup and make AdBlock do it's job.

Now, I'm again on stock Oreo ROM. With EMUI 8 and dark theme.
Also I've made "smallest with" in developer options to 514, because even "Small" value in standart screen "View mode" option is too big for me.
And I miss that clock witch date and seconds, both ways traffic indicator, and cool screen off effect :)

And one more cool feature in list.

Possibility to get auto disable notifications while screen is on and multimedia is playing. This is really killer feature. :cowboy:
