I've always had the GPS glitch with every lollipop rom for my Maxx, needing to wipe modem caches to fix. Does GPS work out of the box on this? Very intriguing rom.

this rom is great. I ran it the last two days. wiped data in twrp, but not internal storage. I had zero issues with it. everything is smooth and great, especially battery life compared to stock and latest cm12.1. thank you so much @BDAZZG1 This is the best Droid Maxx rom.

edit: I don't know if it makes a difference, but I am running the modded for Obake TWRP ver 2.8.4.0 nor the recommended version. again OP, thank you and the rest of the Dirty Unicorns team for standing out and making a device that has had little love be completely amazing.
Either version works just fine. I prefer the added features of 2.8.7.0. However, I've had it fail to flash some ROMs in the past. It has been a few months though, since I've tried to flash anything other than my own builds.

I think I'm going to try your latest build. I've had issues with twrp restoring my 4.4.4 backup when I come back from 5.1.1 on other roms. I haven't figured out why, but system fails to restore (and simultaneously will fail to reflash 5.1.1) and I've always had to sbf to stock, flash twrp again, and root. It's like the recovery gets corrupted. Such a pain, and this only happens on my Maxx. It's why I gave up on lollipop really, just the odd twrp issues when switching Android versions. But I love the smoothness of 5.1.1 over clunky kit kat.

Edit: flashed earlier today, only been on it for maybe 6 hours. Can already tell it's the best 5.1.1 rom I've tried. Everything works, even GPS! I'm beyond happy so far. I'll monitor signal quality as I feel custom roms always a bit funky with them (nothing to do with the dev work). Cheers dude, this rom is snappy and a great dd from my minimal use so far.

may I ask which version of TWRP you are using? I had issues restoring and flashing on every prior build until I used skrillax' modded for obake version. now, I can flash or restore whatever, whenever.

I was using that same version as well, still had issues. I'm on 2.8.7.0 now and had no issues backing up, but haven't had to restore yet so I can't comment on that. It could have been that u was trying to use USB otg to a micro SD card or a flash stick. Said screw it, now just moving my backups to and from my phone to pc. USB otg is finicky with lollipop I've gathered.

While you're here, do you use adaway? I can't get the built in ad blocker nor adaway to stick.

So this ROM doesn't have random reboots because exodus is beginning to run like crap, and the anti piracy stuff they put on there just seems disrespectful to the user. Implementing software to control what people install. ><

EDIT: Also, does anyone know if the weekly for this is stable?

No random reboots and yes... the weekly builds are stable

Err, I'm getting issues signing into the play store. I got the slim gapps by the way.

EDIT: It seems a lot more stable other than the play store issue.

Looking forward to trying this soon. I've been on OctOS since June and it's been pretty slow with some reboots the last couple months. Never was intrigued by Exodus. Thanks BDAZZG1.

Sending whatsapp voice notes doesn't work for me. Anyone else with a similar issue, or just me? Also for those wondering about the rom, don't waste time on others, this is the best 5.1.1 for the Maxx. I've tried them all.

Edit: I don't know if it is a custom 5.1.1 issue or rom, I don't remember even trying whatsapp voice notes on another rom.

11.05.2015

With the 11.05.2015 version, on my Droid Ultra:
  • Ambient display does not work *
  • Settings crashes when selecting "Notification light" in Sounds menu **
  • Settings crashes when selecting App Permissions under Security and shifting right from the default Locations tab **
  • Compass seems to be malfunctioning, it just stays roughly the same as the phone's heading angle
but GPS reception, unlike with all other 5.x ROMs, is rock solid!
GAPPS also seems a bit troubled, it took at least 10 mins to get Google Play working. At the first two startups it wrecked the whole wifi connection, had to reboot.
Gonna try the older version to see if the same problems exist there.

*Update: only in "Full mode", ambient display works when the proximity sensor is triggered. No other modes work. And when allowing the timeout values to be overridden, the screen never goes back to sleep, regardless of how many seconds are set.
** Update: crashes are present in the 0926 version too.

Can confirm the notification light settings crash, though I don't need it. Also I use full mode with ambient display. Otherwise running awesome for 24 hours now.

General question on CM based roms....why do they typically always have a bit more difficulty with data hand offs? Example is when in low service area and it's going between different data types, I retain the "!" and sometimes need to toggle airplane mode or reboot to get data back. Not a rom issue as this has happened to me on every single CM rom on any phone I've had. Is it the RIL? just wondering if there's an explanation.
