For the record... This is NOT a CM based ROM, it is AOSP based. For those experiencing issues, I suggest you perform a FULL WIPE and re-flash.

For anyone having GPS or Compass issues, it's not the ROM. There is crap left over from another ROM. Here's the fix.

Make sure fastboot binaries are installed on your PC, reboot your device to the bootloader, and run these 3 simple commands.
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot

Will this destroy anything from the already installed and configured system?
If so, is it feasible to do a backup without the modem partition, wipe everything, re-flash the ROM from scratch, then restore the backup?

I did what you wrote. Compass is still b0rked. I even tried a full reinstall from scratch, after wiping everything. Ended up restoring my backup.
Compass is not a big deal for me, anyway. The one that would be really nice to have is the notification light but settings crashes, so no way to enable it.
Is there a chance for the front led to be operated for notifications, missed calls etc.?
In the end, this is still the best 5.1 ROM I've seen and I tried all of them. Being the only one with a functioning GPS, this one is clearly a winner.

The Ultra has, I suppose the MAXX has too. Install the Led Control [ROOT] application and set it to USB connected, then plug the phone to your pc. A large green led will light up right beside the proximity sensor.

I have not used DU on the XT1080, but I have it on the XT926 and it is very stable.

For those who are having issues with GPS, you need to go back to stock (hope you have a backup taken using TWRP), get a GPS lock in stock and then restore your custom ROM again. GPS will never give you an issue after that.

I have done this myself after reading some posts here and believe me, it works!

You DO NOT have to flash back to stock. Make sure fastboot binaries are installed on your PC, reboot your device to the bootloader, and run these 3 commands.

Can confirm the notification light settings crash, though I don't need it. Also I use full mode with ambient display. Otherwise running awesome for 24 hours now.

General question on CM based roms....why do they typically always have a bit more difficulty with data hand offs? Example is when in low service area and it's going between different data types, I retain the "!" and sometimes need to toggle airplane mode or reboot to get data back. Not a rom issue as this has happened to me on every single CM rom on any phone I've had. Is it the RIL? just wondering if there's an explanation.

Finally flashed DU and am liking it so far while setting it up. I have a few questions though:

1) How can I change the bootanimation? I did on my previous phone, but attempts to change it on the MAXX have just put me into a bootloop.
2) What are these "breathing notifications" options for sms, missed call, voicemail? I can't seem to figure out the difference with it on or off.
3) What is "Smart Pulldown" for Quick Settings?
4) With the "Time Contexual Header" image.. how do you change the image?
5) Is there a way to make the homescreen/all apps 5x5? (found homescreen settings.. Maybe I'll just try a new launcher. Anyone know what the launcher is from OCTOS?)

Also, not a question.. but changing the LCD density is messed up. I don't know what the default value is, but changing it to "560 dpi" made the screen huge, and changing to "160 dpi" made everything too small. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I remember though on the stock ROM when I got a text message the light blinked when the screen is off.

It is a front led with no other meaningful use than for notifications. I dunno how it is officially called, but I'd go with "notification led" because it is frankly what it practically is.
Maybe it must be handled differently from a technical viewpoint though.

Random System UI Lag

Hey guys, I'm having random UI lag both from lockscreen, upon waking phone to use it, as well as sometimes while in the middle of using it after the initial wake lag has resolved itself.

Is anyone else having this same issue?

I recently went from 444 to 511 and like the new ROM but I am experiencing random UI lags constantly. And before you ask, YES- I performed a complete wipe and fresh install and manually installed my apps directly from Play Store.

Using Pandora from the lock screen is annoying because of the amount of delay between pressing a play control and the amount of time it takes to actually respond. Also, Pandora frequently stops playing on its own. Sometimes when turning screen on and unlocking and opening Chrome, I am greeted with a black page that will never load and the only way I've found to fix Chrome is by killing it and re-opening it...

I'm pretty sure there's a few more examples of things that aren't acting quite right that I can't think of right now, but do any of you know what might be causing this behavior? I love the ROM and it has everything I need but I'm considering other options if I can't resolve this.

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing except sometimes it goes back to the lockscreen after already going after going past it. So I turned it off. I don't know. Does this stuff happen on the earlier ROMs?

I will likely revert back to 4.4.4 if the other 5.1.1 ROM has same issues. 444 was fine.
