Fix VoLTE on Roaming

why does in any custom rom volte not work ? on roaming.. there no solution for it

VOLTE isn't working, am getting the instant call ended on the dialer.

Have noticed when I went back to my he circle and was not roaming, calls and SMS were going through but now that I'm roaming again, they have stopped working.

Please help, VOLTE is a make or break feature, a huge motivator for me to move on from Nexus 5 and I can't do without it.

I would like to inform you that VoLTE works in roaming (jio network, India) on 21 sept build and 5 oct build for me.
Although, initially VoLTE broke when I updated to 21 sept build.
I tried many things to fix it. I am listing everything that I tried in the most possible solution first.

• Fix APN: Update the jio apn to match these

APN = jionet
APN type = default
APN protocol = IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol = IPv4/IPv6

leave others.
I think APN type was initially = default, supl
which might have created problems.
Also add an ims apn:

Name = ims
APN = ims
APN type = ims
APN protocol = IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol = IPv4/IPv6

• Do a network reset:
Do a network reset then try the 1st method.

• Change prefered network type to LTE

• Reboot

I hope this fixes your VoLTE issues.

ims APN is used for ims subsystem communications which is basically what makes VoLTE work.
Simply, ims APN is for VoLTE. (As jionet APN is for internet )

It won't show after adding, don't know why though

No, you don't need to flash it anymore but if you want to do it you can check this thread

Guys I had a strange problem that I flashed lineage 14.1 over miui and for some reason I revert back to miui after restore from twrp backup it showed me no Sim card, WiFi didn't connect, settings force close and no music.... I tried flashing new roms and reset which didn't help Then I flashed fastboot rom to solve this now it's OK.... What was the problem that I had and any body tell solution for future flash.

Note - It showed some( error 255) during restore of firmware in twrp and I ignored it to restore remaining..

Please if anybody faced this kindly discuss.

Maybe you can try to dig boot image from official rom , flash the official boot image when you want to get back to your official rom, and when you going to flash LOS again, flash the "firmware" file in this thread..

Yes download official fastboot rom from MI official website and flash with miflash software

I'm using those but I only have one SIM. I do know however that both apps support 2 SIMs, not with two call buttons though. It will either call the default "account" or you can set it to always ask for the dialer at least.
