Hey, @adinechin. Do you know what nougat roms have this feature? (manages SIM deactivation.)
The only ones i know are Lineage 14 and Miui Pro

With what I've tested, only one build of Lineage. MIUI Pro is not nougat

Yes, i know. Miui Pro is lollipop.

Lineage 14.1 is giving me an issue - it has root enabled by default. How can I unroot?

I first tried flashing addonsu remove file from Lineage. Didn't work.

When I use the AOKP nougat and I'm able to use supersu to remove root. But the same is not working on LOS14.1

I need to get rid of root to use banking apps. Please help!

I guess i looked at ways of removing root. Magisk is an app that gives root AFAIK. Never thought about hiding apps from root. Thanks Hrutvik!

For those who run into this issue, I did the following
1. Magisk - Download from official site and flash using recovery (I used the TWRP and installed the zip)
2. Magisk manager - download APK and install after reboot. Open the app and you will find Magisk Hide in the menu. Just select the apps you want to hide!

I've noticed some strange behaviour on LOS 14.1 - using the latest unofficial build

Case 1: clean flash LOS + gapps mini (latest)
G pay and my banking app doesn't work. Magisk hide makes my banking app work.

Case 2: clean flash LOS + gapps STOCK (latest)
G pay is inbuilt but it's an old version. I install the newest version of G pay and I get a second app in my app draw. The latest version works fine. My bank app says my phone is rooted and doesn't open. Magisk hide make my bank app work

In the second case, g pay works since I flashed gapps STOCK instead of mini. How does this happen?

I already tried that.

Although the banking app says it checked for root access, i have a feeling theres more to it than that.
Flashing the addon su from LOS has no effect.

Magisk hide is the only solution at the moment

For Shreps's latest build is from Feb 2018 and harry8242’s from June 2018, I wonder how others handle the problem of no security updates on a regular basis?
I've tried to build my own from code but I failed and reinstalled Shreps's latest build, which works absolutely fine on my device and for my purposes.
I'm only concerned a bit about not getting security updates.

If millions of people with crappy Sammy phones can live with outdated systems, then sure we can live a bunch of months without security patches. Plus it's not like every security fix is even related to our device, like Spectre and Meltdown which don't do on a cortex a53.

By the way, I had done a clean flash of LOS after changing networks from Jio to Vodafone.
Wasn't able to get data working for a few days till I realised I had to select the correct APN !!!

I faced a problem with phone calls, the sound is very loud, and most of the time, the person who i called can't hear me, or sometimes, the person hear me for a while then stop hearing me then back to hear me again
also the LTE not working
How can i fix that please ?
