Did a quick search for this but came up with nothing, sorry if I'm wrong. Since flashing this (clean flash and everything followed per instructions) the wake time is atrocious. If my phone has been locked for more than a few minutes it will take anywhere between 30 seconds and a couple minutes for the screen to come on. I can scan my fingerprint and I can interact with the phone (hit where the home button would be, and get haptic feedback, hold power button and get haptic feedback etc) but the screen doesn't come on during this time. Does anyone know the cause or a solution?

I am also experiencing similar delay from fingerprint unlock to screen on.

Check to see if pocket detection is on, follow the path: Settings/Ashes/Miscellaneous/Pocket detection

Puts the device in a deep sleep

Just turned it off, let's see how this goes

If it was on, that was your issue. I have/use a holster for mine, so no pocket for me. It's a handy feature for those that put their devices in the back pocket (it prevents "butt dialing", lol) Even though a PIN or password will accomplish the same thing...

I only turned it on because I had an S8+ that would constantly hit buttons if I was on the phone with it in my pocket so I figured it'd be a useful feature. Definitely is working better now thank you

Like I said, it is a useful feature. Causes some issues (obviously) with Nexus/Pixel devices, but works great on others :good:

ROM Update!

FireHound v4.8 (See changelog(s) below)

As usual, it's been too long since the last update. That's because most of the team has moved on to bringing up FireHound v5.x (Pie) sources and for their devices.

However, a couple of us will continue to support Oreo a little longer, at least until v5.x is more stable.

This update brings in the August security patches and a few more additional features.

OP has been updated, you can also download from Here

Current Vendor Image: OPM4.171019.021.P1 (July) Link
(Note: July 2018 is last Oreo vendor image for Pixel devices)

Flash the vendor using TWRP or via fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor-sailfish-opm4.171019.021.p1.img --slot all

How to Install:
See OP

How to Update:
Make sure you are on July vendor
Reboot to TWRP recovery
Flash the ROM.zip (tap back arrow)
Flash TWRP installer.zip
Reboot Recovery (This will boot the slot where the ROM was just installed)
Flash GApps.zip
(Optional) Flash Magisk*
Reboot System

*If you previously flashed Magisk, you should flash it after updating as well

ROM Changelog
FireHound 4.8

Changelog:
- August Securtiy patches
- Support for theming notifications using stock system themes
- Added a 'Gaming Mode' tile for a better UX while playing games
- Added 'Ripple Effect' for Brightness Buttons
- Fixed System/Gestures FC

Device Changelog
- Added new QS Tiles
- Updated Kernel

Hi there,

I have lost the ability to unlock with fingerprint in the new version.

Thanks

Edit: please disregard. I resolved the issue by removing and reinstalling magisk.

Does anyone have any idea if it is possible to downgrade to Android 8.1 without a PC?

Download the ROM, vendor and GApps. You'll have to wipe your phone (system and data), but you should be able to set this up without a PC. Make sure you got TWRP installed and have the installer as well.

Then just flash according to the directions in the OP for a clean install :good:

Wipe the device (Advanced: Dalvik, System and Data)
Flash the ROM
Flash TWRP installer
Reboot Recovery
Flash Vendor
Flash GApps
Reboot

Setup and flash Magisk 17.1 for root, if you wish

The vendor.img to both slots in TWRP Or not?

Doesn't actually "have" to be. Just install it before flashing GApps, you can have 2 different vendor images installed. You just need the one on the current slot that you are trying to boot (that make sense?)

okay i install the vendor to slot B also the Gapps but that tells me an Android 9 is currently installed.

Edit:

my failure.

my Steps:

1. flash vendor.img
2. flash ROm.zip
3. flash twrp.zip
4.reboot recovery (now in B)
5. flash Gapps
6. flash Magisk
7. reboot

it works now!

okay i install the vendor to slot B also the Gapps but that tells me an Android 9 is currently installed.

Then you got your slots backwards, somehow. If you boot to recovery and you're on Slot A, the ROM will flash to Slot B, Slot B is where you need to flash the vendor and GApps (and Magisk, if you want root).

These A/B partitions are both good and bad, lol

Reboot recovery, then select the opposite slot, then reboot recovery again.
Flash the vendor image and then flash GApps
Reboot system

That should resolve your issue
