Try what? I don't see anything in your comment

The code from his post didn't show up?

Enable debugging, get your computer and phone paired. Open adb shell and try running:

adb shell

settings put global tether_dun_required 0

Then to check, run:

Settings get global tether_dun_required

Should return "0" and not "null"

I've not needed to be rooted, but on stock I do have magisk and magisk tethering module enabled.

Yes, I did all that. Followed instructions on slots and TWRP, etc. I assumed that was implied, but of course it isn't. :p
It finally did reboot, but then any active app would just crash. So I started anew, wiped and maybe third time is the charm.

Edit: Apparently the hang was caused by using fingerprint to unlock on initial boot. Boo! We'll see on the rest.

Thanks, man. Couldn't figure out what was up with my phone, until I read this post. Anyone else with similar problem, remember that you can still pull down the menu, go into settings, Ashes, and the advanced lockscreen options to disable fingerprint on initial login.

T-Mobile hotspot

Has anyone been able to get the hotspot working on this phone, if the carrier is t-mobile?

I've tried all recommendations listed in this thread with no luck. Hotspot works fine for me on other roms, but I prefer this one :)

Same issue here. The hot spot appears to be working fine on the phone and my laptop will connect to it but I have no internet on the laptop once connected.

@Nhiosis @emelosh67 either of you try either method up a few posts?

Or magisk with the tethering module installed? I have sprint which is also in the tmobile category when I bought it and installing the module and setting global tether dun required to 0 enabled my hotspot.

I had to do this on RR, stock, and los. RR didn't need magisk tethering module but it did need the settings changed

I've tried both editing the build.prop as well as setting the global tether dun and no go. This has worked on every other rom I've used (Pure Nexus, stock, etc) without issue and without having to change/set anything.

I tried to do the Magisk module for tether but I couldn't find it on the download list in Magisk Manager. I did a search and found the module but it failed to install. :( Guess I got the wrong module so not sure where to get it from.

Reflashing this rom now with ver 4.7 and will see if anything works. Hopefully 4.7 works lol I just seen it on their downloads page on their website.

EDIT: Confirmed working after the reflash with version 4.7. Using the hotspot to type this message.

Did you clean flash? I'll be making a post here when I get off work, I haven't flashed it yet (I"m running my own build of 4.7) For others that want the new build, SELinux is now enforcing, along with some other changes. Therefore, the ROM should be clean installed to prevent any issues...

If you dirty flash it, don't report any bugs/fc's

ROM Update!

FireHound v4.7 (See changelog(s) below)

Starting this week, all Official builds will be coming from the FireHound Jenkins server, they will be released on Fridays from here on out.
Also, at this time, the Essentials app will send you a notification at this point.
After downloading the build, you will need to reboot to TWRP (or reboot using the app) and flash the ROM as we have been.

Hopefully, in the near future, we can get actual OTA updates, like with stock AOSP.

NOTICE: Essential app states that it's doing a "Factory Data Reset" when rebooting to recovery, this is not the case, your data should be safe, mine was. Also, if you download using the app, the ROM zip will be in "Essentials/updates"

OP has been updated, you can also download from FireHound.org

Current Vendor Image: OPM4.171019.021.P1 (July) Link
Flash the vendor using TWRP or via fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor-marlin-opm4.171019.021.p1.img --slot all

How to Update:
* Clean Install Required *
Make sure you are on July vendor
Reboot to TWRP recovery
Flash the ROM.zip (tap back arrow)
Flash TWRP installer.zip

Reboot System

Thank you so much !!! for everything !!! just out of curiosity, obviously you are stating "Clean install". So it means we need to wipe everything and cannot Dirty Flash this version? Just want to clarify the meaning of "Clean" as i understand it. Thank you so much !

Yes, NO DIRTY FLASH, lol

Don't wipe internal storage though, obviously, you're gonna need that.

From here on out, dirty flashing should be "OK", unless otherwise posted :good:

Me too, lol, but for me, it takes less than 30 minutes. I have fewer than 50 apps, and use TiBu all the time

After this one, you should be good to go though, I'll let you know if it changes....

EDIT:
You're in Texas, won't take me more than a few hours to get to you, but don't worry =D

@NepoRood looks like there are a lot of updates to the rom on 4.2. Should we be doing a clean install for this one or can we dirty flash?
    When did "he release" 4.2?

Last "test build" I did a dirty flash, as usual, and all went fine. I have a build with all the updates building now and I will test it before releasing, which should be in the next few hours. I'll be sure and mention the best course of action when I post it up.

Hold on just a bit longer guys, this update is a doozy, lots of cool new stuff! :good:
