This seems like a great ROM! I have a question: I'm looking to buy a S9 Model SM-G960F/DS; would this ROM work on it? Would it be a straightforward process to root and flash?
Thanks for all your hard work!

My version is SM-G960F/DS, but I use single sim +sdcard.. so i dunno about double sim functions.. but seem readed and supported from menus etc.
Btw now are out an interesting fw original for nightmode.. damn.. would be nice to use that just for the camera but keep this great rom :)

Please, don't buy this device. You're better off with anything other than Samsung. Trust me.

* For the record: Oreo ROMs(the software this device was built with, and for), such as this one, run beautifully.
You also have active and current Official LOS 8.1 builds, which include all up-to-date monthly Security Patches built right in.

If, however, you're more interested in running(read as; 'trying', 'testing' or, 'debugging') the various and sundry custom Pie+ softwares that you can find floating about the internet, and fighting with your device daily for regular functionality, then no, I agree, Samsung really isn't your best bet.

In other words: For a stable and truly enjoyable Galaxy S9/+ with custom AOSP style ROM: Stick with Oreo 8.1 builds, they're generally excellent and pretty much bug-free.

If you must own a S9/+ and want to be running anything newer than Oreo, to keep up with the Jones's, or whatever, stick with stock(or one of the many custom built) OneUI ROMs, which actually, surprisingly is quite a pleasant and mega feature-filled joy in itself.

Wondering what will happen since LoS will be dropping support for S9/+. Will security patches still make their way to us?

To be honest, as far as I'm concerned, the Security Patches only make my device as secure as Google tells me they do.

What was 'secure' in the last 4 weeks, all of a sudden, apparently, becomes a gaping threat at the start of each new month. Not so secure after all, then. As if that isn't already obvious. ;)

* Appendix 1.a:

As a semi-off-topic example(with apologies to the RR Maintainer here). I recently accidentally broke a reasonably new and up-to-date phone. Until I could replace the broken tracking-device, being the working-class pauper that I find myself to be, I was forced to use an old device, which was updateable, via a years old custom ROM, to only as modern an Android as version 2.3, Gingerbread.

Being the brunt of chuckles and mild ridicule at the smoking corner at work, as I surfed the WAP on 2g, not one person, or robot, stole my identity, pilfered my bank account, hacked my "Facebook For Old Mobiles", nor did I even suspect or get the niggling feeling that anything similarly untoward was imminent in those few weeks that I went Marty McFly.

If anything, I reckon(correctly) that, the more modern our devices and softwares become, so the more open to documenting and cataloguing our very lives becomes.

@LavaSnake54, thanks for the feedback. Have you had a S9(+) in the past? What are you using right now?

Thanks for the info. It doesn't have to be a dual sim one. It's just that I live in Canada and have been with Koodo for a long time but the only S9/S9+ I can buy from them, for a decent price, is the Snapdragon version which, if I'm not mistaken is still unrootable. I then found a couple of S9s with the Exynos processor on amazon.ca. Darn, it's starting to be a real pain in the a** to find a decent phone that can be rooted!

@D4ND310, sorry to hear about your predicament although I couldn't help myself laughing!
I think that you're spot on about not having to worry that any of your info getting stolen. I'm still using a Samsung Galaxy S5 with Resurrection Remix on it. I do a lot of cycling, hiking, that type of stuff and dropped my phone a few times. Some "air bubbles" formed under the corners of the glass so I removed the glass/digitizer from it. It's still working fine except for the display which looks a little pale because the glass is being held to the phone with 2 rubber bands. I just bought a non-working genuine S5 with the glass/digitizer block in a1 shape and will just replace the one on my phone. I didn't want to buy just any non-gorilla glass off amazon or ebay.

Last week, I bought my wife a Huawei P30 Pro even though I was aware of the bootloader being locked (for the time being). Another reason I bought it was about all the US/Google controversy. I hate that when governments/corporations, etc. try to manipulate me, using fear tactics to make choices for me. The Canadian P30's Pro bootloader is locked but I deactivated a bunch of the bloat on it and installed adguard and so far so good. I think it will do until there's a way to root it. It takes great pictures, which my wife wanted in a phone.

As for me, I just want a solid phone (rootable) with a good quality screen. I don't play games, don't use Facebook (I had an account in the mid 2000s when it started but didn't get into it, so deleted it), Instagram, etc. I use it mostly as a cycling, hiking computer, traveling (to book and find info), texting, that type of stuff. It would just be nice to have a screen that's a little larger than my S5.

I hope that everything will work out for you and your Gingerbread experience!

BTW, on what phone model did you break the tracking device?

Haha, @Josephito. That story was some time ago. I now use an S9.

* And what do you mean? All mobiles are the tracking device I'm talking about. There was a big ol' deal in the early 2000's where the Internet Conspiracy Sector was peddling the whole RFID under-skin-chip, "Don't get the tag", "Big Brother is cataloguing you!", "Watching what you eat, how you spend, where you this and who you that!"

People desperately didn't want the chip, thanks to the internet meme. But ah-ha! Their fear mongering got us quite so hooked-in enough that we all now voluntarily purchase the chip, even contractually, bound for some significant portion of our foreseeable futures, that we can continue to keep abreast of those nasty malifecents' unsavoury schemes! Bravo!

I've installed this ROM along with the required vendor and I'm having trouble using the camera. I know it's not a problem with a respective app because I've tried using around 5 different ones. The app either doesn't connect to the camera or just crashes
