The mixer settings in lineage are also causing lots of feedback when performing a Skype echo test. I have tried lowering the boost values and capture volume of the microphone mixer path, but no luck so far. Notice also that in lineage, the microphone mixer paths are changed.

edit: I tried your recent changes and reverted the difference to not use the voip mixer paths, but skype audio is still distorted with an echo test.
edit2: I also wanted to say that the microphone on my bluetooth headset works fine with skype. The problem with skype echo test is only with the built-in mic on the tablet.

Can you try that commit from lineage that you linked to?
Perhaps that is easier to include then to find out all the different paths that are used.
If that commit does not work, give me the audio_path that could not be found
I am using that commit from lineage to use the voip paths.
This commit fixes the video recording, but we are not sure if this is what the stock rom uses:

Regarding Skype, it seems to also be using voip-main-mic-comm as a mixer path. Although, Skype seems to be distorting the volume for some unknown reason. Could the problem with Skype be related to the acdb_id?

Could anyone provide a logcat of the stock ROM with skype and video recording? That would help very much.
Edit2: There is also an app on Play Store called CSipSimple that has a voip audio test. Maybe that would also be a good way to debug this mic issue becuase CSipSimple also automatically adjusts the capture volume, like Skype does. Also, Maybe there is an issue with noise reduction?

Tried that mixer paths file and the result is even worse. The video doesn't even play after the record.

That would be really helpful. One logcat of skype with an echo test and one logcat of starting and stopping a video recording.It's a lot of work, but I can try...
