Hi,
Here is AOKP Oreo 8.1 for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus (vince)

Requirements:
- Unlocked bootlaoder
- Official TWRP (non treble)

How to install:
From stock

1. Copy the ROM zip on your phone
2. Reboot in TWRP Recovery mode
3. Backup your phone!
4. Format/Wipe system, cache, dalvik, data
5. Flash/Install ROM
6. Flash Install Gapps (OpenGapps 8.1 Mini or smaller is recommanded)
7. Reboot

Upgrade from previous build

1. Copy the ROM zip on your phone
2. Reboot in TWRP Recovery mode
3. Format/Wipe only cache, dalvik
4. Flash/Install ROM
5. Reboot

EDIT-to be honest, Its too buggy compared to any other rom I have used so far, I have already tired every possible ways like dirty flash clean flash, rebooting device but it seems that the lag is still very much noticeable. thanks for your handwork. hope you will fix this.

I tried the rom and I liked what I saw so far, especially the feature not all roms have of having a compact stock and switched navbar.

I did however encounter one weird compatibility issue with nova launcher. Nova launcher couldn't load any widgets for some reason. Other launchers were fine tho.
