As I asked before, is that step necessary when you are already on the updated OFW POCO F3 EEA - V14.0.7.0.TKHEUXM?

Because I was running that FW already and because of that I skipped it. Thats what the guide says, or at least my interpretation of the following:

Warning: Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is currently using the firmware version mentioned below. If your current installation is newer or older than the required version, please upgrade or downgrade to the required version before proceeding by following this guide.

I'll be doing the FW install/replacement later to see if it fixes it. But if that step is required even when MIUI says you're on the right FW, maybe the step shouldn't be optional.

My phone came "from factory" with POCO F3 EEA - V14.0.7.0.TKHEUXM, should I try the Global one or would that give me problems?

I thought I could skip this step because my phone already had the right version installed. Not sure if I should try to reinstall that same EEA version.
There is no harm in trying and also try with Global firmware

Flashed the entire bundle of https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update/variant1 > EEA (because that's what it came with).

Now I can't finish the adding of a fingerprint, because it's "Timed out". Now going to do a few reboots to see if it helps. If not, I'll try the GLOBAL bundle.

-edit- After another reboot the fingerprint got accepted. Another reboot, and the fingerprint didn't dissappear. So it's working now.

So even if you're on the correct firmware, you should flash the firmware mentioned (it will not reset or wipe the device). Seems like it's not an optional step, at least not on my EEA device.

Still struggling with the Gallery being completely random, not chronological... And the camera app is not able to use the full potential of the main lens (48MP) and it's not able to use the other two lenses. I found the other two lenses, that was indeed a classic case of "- user error: replace user -"

For now, you can set the photos at 16:9. Might not be optimal but greatly increases the resolution.

The timed out is a general Android problem. Shortly after a reboot it works better in my experience.

Hi everyone!

Flashed yesterday the 20230603 build from a clean flash and the recommended v14 global version firmware and everything works great except that I cannot answer calls. I can make it and everything works well (even the proximity sensor seems to be much more accurate than it was in the 18.1 version) but if I receive a call the notification does not appear, the phone sounds but there is no way to answer it. I look in the permissions and everything seems fine. Anybody have this problem?

Thanks for the amazing work!

Did you flash gapps? I faced this problem once in the past with other rom and the reason was I didn't flash gapps and stock dialer was buggy, google dialer never has this issue.

Yes, I flashed the recommended Gapps package (mindthegapps arm64) but I always use the LOS dialer, I don't see the point to switch to Google's one if this one works as expected. I really like the lightweight applications from LOS.

I found out that by installing Google's dialer and setting it as default works as expected and if I revert the change to LOS dialer it also works. But after a reboot the LOS dialer stops from working again. I guess that I will keep both until it start to work as intended.

Did they take out the option to use the power button to take a picture? Or am I being an idiot again?
You can enable double click on power button to open camera, and use volume buttons to take the picture. I cannot find an option to take picture with power button, was it present in previous versions?

I have used the power button as the shutter for as long as I can remember. And the volume keys are for zoom, obviously... But I just came from a OnePlus 5T on LOS18, and since then they have taken out a ton of useful features;

I can't find the built in Terminal app anymore.
The built in email app has gone.
There's no more network speed in the notification bar.
You can't choose your own menu colors.
Only 4 buttons in the quick drop down notification bar...

I guess it's LOS devs or Android devs doing what they do best again... It's a shame that the aosp/los is going backwards, I don't understand who makes those choices. I would love to ask that person what is the point.

Hi, thanks guys for helping me before. Now , I am running LOS20 without any problem (for now).

I would like to seek your opinion / answer, is it possible to update graphic driver thru LOS recovery -> apply update -> adb sideload?

Tks

hi, I installed LOS 20 recently and the first time I see something like this for the time. For some reason, Google Chrome does not see the Internet connection and Gmail synchronization requests. An account already deleted and authoritively again, did not help. Also after reboot reset fingerprint and i have to configure again. What can i do in this case?

Have you tried to change preferred network type in settings? This happened to me after the instal, the preferred netwotk type was set to: LTE, TD-SCDMA , CDMA,... I changed it to : WORLD and the 5G appeared immediately.

Yes, you're right. My phone is in Spanish, i have "Mundial" as an option in preferred network type, so I thought that World would be the english word for that.

    Hey guys,
First of all, thank you all so much for the work you're all putting in this community.

I'm encountering the SIM card reboot bug with my new (second hand) F3. After a while, the network disconnects, then the phone restarts, doesn't show any network setting and I need to reboot again for everything to work.

So from what I've read on this forum, the solution is to flash the right firmware before flashing LOS? I'm not new to flashing ROMs, but I don't really understand the concept of flashing a firmware beforehand.
So I need to check if my phone is a Global or EEA version using my IMEI, then flash the right firmware, then reflash LOS (no way of fixing this without losing my data, right?)

So can someone confirm that this famous bug is fixed by doing this, and that it's the correct way of doing it?
    Thanks!
Uploading the right firmware is key. Simply uploading a firmware will not remove your data from the phone. It's worth doing it with these instructions
    Code:
    https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update/variant1
I personally having downloaded a newer version of Global. The lineageos website recommends V14.0.4.0.TKHMIXM. In my case, the network continued to disappear and reboots occurred. However, after uploading V14.0.7.0.TKHMIXM, everything works very well. No reboots and network outages. You'll have to see what works for you.

I also have issues with reboots on the global 14.0.7.0 firmware. Today a new global firmware 14.0.8.0 (see here) was released, lets see how this one works.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
