I have been using Arrow OS v11, September 28 build for almost a week now.
But I can can tell you that I'm not completely happy with this build.
1. Fingerprint is sometimes sluggish, sometimes gets frozen, you sometimes have to click the power button to get it unlocked.
2. I tend to use 60 Hertz refresh rate value for minimum and maximum for a little longer battery life, but from time to time while scrolling it feels like frames are dropping, sometimes simple swiping left and right on home screen feels laggy. And it won't be alright until I restart the phone. This problem doesn't occur though while using 90 or 120 Hertz. But I'm not sure, cause I didn't test the problem for those options for very long.
3. Whenever I launch PUBG, CPU clock speed drops for some reason. And if I run geekbech 5 the benchmark score is less than half the score of what it's supposed to be. And it won't get normal untill I restart the phone. Not sure if it's the problem with this rom or something. I posted about this problem on this thread 2 days ago.

These are the major problems I personally faced. Number 2 bothers me the most as it happens often.

Some users are also complaining about the latest build. I also can't be very confident about previous builds as bugs on those builds are fixed and updated to later builds.
These the are things I personally felt about this rom.

Could any of those issues be in relation to root/mods or nah? Hmm, is there another ROM you would suggest?

No I didn't have rooted my device after installing this rom, and so I didn't do any mods.

I didn't try many ROMs. I tried Pixel plus UI and Arrow OS only. And Pixel plus UI felt better. It also has a little more customization options. Value of their corner radius is good, looks better at corners. The only problem I had is, it sometimes restarted randomly and I didn't find and reason. But I asked users of Pixel Plus UI in that thread, but they didn't have such issue. Maybe I had done something wrong installing it. Cause Pixel plus UI went OSS from v3.8. but I had installed it old way. Not sure if that caused the problem. BTW I was on PPUI v3.8

But now I'm going to install Pixel plus UI again within some days. Maybe you could give it a shot.

I started to dislike arrowos because developer for some reason decided for everyone that "supercharge is killing" our phone. And intentionally slowing it down without providing option to choose for end user. So main developer is thinking that he is smarter than whole teams of developers and manufactorers, thousands of people.
Developer had one task: to create a minimalistic alternative to miui based on aosp. But because of strong belief in himself he started changing a core.

I'm feeling very disappointed today, cause I was on Pixel Plus UI, but it restarted itself randomly. So I decided to install Arrow OS. I installed Arrow OS and I have been using it for over a week now. I thought it doesn't have random restart problem.
But, Today I was watching a YouTube video and it restarted itself in the middle of the video.

I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. Somebody, who faced this problem and solved it, please give me the right direction so I can get rid of this problem. Please...

And those who didn't face this problem, please share your way of installing the rom from the beginning

The way I installed is.
1. I was on stock MIUI 12.5.3 and unlocked Bootloader then flashed TWRP by nabrassy, and rooted to keep the recovery.
2. Then wiped delvik, data and cache.
3. Flashed the firmware only file. Firmware version 12.5.4(size around 102 MB)
3. Installed Arrow OS Gapps version
4. Formatted data
5. Rebooted successfully

I didn't have rooted the phone. And I always use YouTube vanced. Not sure if this might be related

Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

This is how I installed mine but I used vanilla instead of the GAPPS version, no problems aside from the occasional sluggish FP scanner.

Hi everyone, I've been enjoying the the Arrow ROM on my X3 PRO for about 2 months now, everything working fine for me utill the last OTA update (03/10 ) and at random times when I restart the phone for some reason I restart go to TRWP and reboot system from there it gets stuck on the arrow logo animation and I have to force volume down and power to restart it again and then it boots up normaly after this! Any ideas about this? thank you!

Yep, sometimes my device reset 1-2 times at POCO logo, not at every cool boot, but often, not a big deal, however i noticed that doing a format data after installing the new build solve the issue.
Seems some builds need a full reset to work properly because there are many changes to the code, at least in my case, maybe a wipe of data/cache and dalvik can be enought, need to test it next time.
Having a sdcard is extremely helpfull in these cases, you can do all the procedure in just one go, configuring the phone after a reset is also easy if you made a backup of the apps settings into the sdcard.

Please stop talking about things you do not even understand.
This is a hobby, an open source project.
"Supercharge" are you dumb or have been taking drugs in real life that you can't understand fast charging is completely fine and IT'S NOT WHAT IS DISABLED!

The problem is a custom feature which is called "smart charging" (which is not even part of AOSP or any OEM feature, it's a random custom implementation) which cuts off power in the middle of charging that can cause issues which can even brick devices of people like who do not even know why is something is even done.

I'm liking Arrow OS a lot. It's sort of the opposite of MIUI. If you like MIUI, great. I had a hard time with the bloat.

So far Arrow OS is nice. Ill give it a run.

Random restart has the same pattern. After I install the Gapps version of this rom it was running good for around 5 days. Then it restarts once a day, next day it restarts 2-3 times. The more time day passes it is increasing more and more(exponentially). It happens in the middle of using the phone, also happens when I'm not doing anything. It happened 2 times at late night while I was sleeping (phone was totally idle)
I don't know if this might be related but, I didn't root the device after installing the rom and I always install and use YouTube vanced for non-root.

Please, show me the direction brother. This also happens for Pixel plus UI rom I was using previously with the same restart pattern.
I'm begging for this fix.🙏🏼
Thank you

Fixed as in how?
It was always working, I know that it has delays and sometimes doesn't work when phone is way into deep sleep.
But this is how open source implementation is, no OEM releases their improvements to fingerprint hidl or anything else.
I will improve these things if possible, switching to Xiaomi prebuilt methods is not something I am planning to do right now.
I am already working on android-12 now.

I am using my builds from last 2-3 months now and have been dirty flashing each of new ota and my experiments builds
I never faced any random reboots but I don't use Magisk, mods, Custom kernels etc.

You guys are really desperate if you believe ghost touches are related to firmware or software in general, it is a hardware issue stop fooling yourself.
And it's not even matter of touch panel manufacturer because it happens on both Tianma and Huaxing, it's just poor manufacturing process during assembly / poor quality control (or lack of it) and most likely some issues with grounding i had exactly same problem on Mi9 Lite before and if you google it tons of other Xiaomi / Poco phones have same problem aswell. And ofcourse Xiaomi will never admit it's hardware problem because they would have to repair/replace/refund every single phone with this issue which is huge money loss for them so instead they will be fooling people that they are working on firmware fix indefinitely and when your warranty runs out then they will say "oh well we tried" i mean you get what you pay for - top specification but **** quality, budget camera, non-existant support and laughable software, that's Xiaomi for you.
Instead of wasting time and hoping for magic go RMA your phone before warranty runs out.
    3
I never had a random restart on Arrow 11. Are you using stock ROM without any mods? (Magisk, custom Kernel etc.)
Currently i have over 240 hours uptime without restart and it would be more if not an update lol.
    2
I too never had random restart on Arrow 11.

Will Arrowos 11 still be maintained after Arrowos 12 come out? There hasnt been any new commit since Nov 11.

You can download ArrowOS Recovery if you like or use other 3rd party recoveries

    FAQ::

Tip: If you are new to custom ROMs, I would suggest taking a TWRP backup/partition backup (usually: persist, efs, firmware partitions, etc) saved in your cloud or computer.

Q1: How can I update to a new update?
A1: Flash ArrowOS recovery and download and install the update from the OTA Updater application OR Download from arrowos.net [codename: vayu] boot to TWRP and flash it; if you are using ArrowOS recovery, copy build zip to external storage (sdcard, USB otg etc) and install via "Apply system update option"
If you are on PC, you can also use adb sideload while being on recovery

Q2: Why is Mi8 (dipper)/walleye oreo or any other device's build fingerprint and desc props/values are used?
    A2
: As most of the custom ROM users might be aware that SafetyNet cannot pass with devices own build fingerprint props due to the multiple checks or other aspects which is unknown, done by the OEM/Google which fails hence nowadays devices are generally spoofed with build fingerprint and description props of devices which passes CTS/SafetyNet like from a device with Android Oreo or Pre Android Oreo (walleye oreo; mi8 oreo, etc) or from latest Pixels (like redfin)
This device as of now uses Mi8 (dipper) build fingerprint and description to pass SafetyNet!
(In future release: It can change to Pixels or some other device too just to "Pass SafetyNet checks") hence don't consider this as some lame reason to spam or message about.

Q3: Facing ghost touch issues on your device?
    A3:
This issue has been recognized by Xiaomi as a fault in their MIUI firmware, I am not yet sure if this is completely a hardware fault or just a firmware fault with specific variants
I have an Indian 8/128 variant and I never faced such issues.
Since Xiaomi does not release newer changes done to the kernel source, we are stuck with the initial R source release hence we don't know what changes they made to fix it on MIUI if they ever did
But, some people have fixed ghost touch issues by :
    * Flashing MIUI 12.0.4.0/12.0.6.0 full MIUI rom, booting to it, setup up everything (like registering the fingerprint, etc), and then moving to custom ROMs.

[* Using 120hz? (not confirm but 2 users have suggested doing this has solved sluggish touch issues for them)]

If this method works for you do not update firmware unless you are sure that will work
This is not a global issue, only a limited number of people face it!
Also, users have faced ghost touch issues on MIUI 12.5.3.0+ versions aswell, so this is not something custom from related! It is hardware/firmware level

Do not report bugs with mods or custom kernels.

You can chat with me on Telegram: https://t.me/kubersharma001chat

Hey. just wanted to notify you all that I am going to remove the "Smart Charging" feature in future builds, Also I suggest using mods/ modules which simulate similar behavior as the smart charging feature IS NOT RECOMMENDED!
    BECAUSE:

A bunch of Xiaomi devices (at least vayu, surya etc for sure) (or lets say some QUALCOMM devices in general too) have somewhat buggy PMIC ( i.e Power Management IC) and facing the issue is rare in most scenarios (some can face it without using these features too) till you don't mess power_supply or anything related to PMIC mods or features like smart charging, idle state charging, those Magisk modules for smart charging like ACC or whatever can trigger the PMIC to bug out as well and in that case your battery will be drained, won't charge unless you reboot to bootloader till the time you can. If you don't do that and let it drain (which I remind you might be quicker than usual) it might just go DEAD.

    Ref: https://github.com/lybdroid/poco-x3-pro/issues/1

Most people might not face the issue, but still, there is a chance, and let's not risk it. I would suggest avoiding draining your battery to 0.

I am not saying the above-mentioned features or mods are bad or broken but there is a slight chance something bad can happen, so my removal of this feature on vayu is just a safe play till we know something better
    "Be safe than sorry"
    11
    Fixes/Changes done for next build/update:
    - Yellow tint on screen
    - Lowers vibration intensity to a decent level
    - Force volume steps to 25 as some MIUI vendors are forcing this to insane 150 volume steps, yikes.
    - Fix Recents Overview sluggishness
    - Ship GCamGoPrebuilt instead of AOSP camera2
    - Other minor improvements and fixes.
    9
BTW, Incase anyone wasn't aware you can see last 24 hour active/installs statistics here:
    vayu is now under top10

    Changes for Next update:
Fixed WFD showing green screen while casting to laptop
