Is this ROM still maintained? Or should I look at upgrading to Android 12? I've heard some bad stories about that ROM, so rather stick with Android 11.
+1

I'm sticking with 11 for that same reason.

The only problem I have on 11, is my battery drain as detailed above. But it could be that my battery isn't functioning correctly, as when the problem first started, it wasn't after any upgrade.

such as?

I've been sticking with Arrow 12 vanilla + microg for a while, switched to 12.1 gapps build rn for some testing. Pretty good experience overall on both versions(lack of monet customisation option on 12.1 kinda sucks, but I assume it'll be re-added later, plus it's not really a big deal for me).

man why do you have to give us google app and digital wellbeing preinstalled?
if we wanted them we would install them
make the gapps as minimal as possible and everything is available i am assuming on the play store, is it not?

also the vanilla build has many useless apps that i can't uninstall can only disable, you left me with no choice

u can use flyme gapps with the "flamegapps-config.txt".

the config file will uninstall digital wellbeing or not install, dunno, i don´t like/want it as well and it´s not there ;)

Will this ROM continue to receive updates?

I have tried a lot of custom ROM and for my use this one is the best! With gapps it's like pixel experience without annoying battery drain issue.

Hi everyone,
I'm struggling with something, I can't find any way to prevent app to auto close / hibernate while in background. For ex, if I'm watching a video on YouTube, moving to another app (Firefox, or anything), if I move back to YouTube, it's relaunching from scratch and not taking back the video I was watching. Same issue for almost all apps. I turned off battery saving on the phone, battery optimisation for specific app, battery management... but it doesn't change a thing. Any clue ?

Thanks !

Samsung s9+ issue with USB connection. Charging this device then clicked down arrow, tab more options, file transfer and phone re-boots. Tried 3 times and it did work. Other option MIDI works fine. PTP also re-boots phone not working.

Issue now resolved by going to settings, connected devices, then select file transfer. It now works also from notication drop-down accessing from top.

I do not have this issue. When I go back youtube the video is paused and when I click the play button, it starts from the same location it was paused.

Hi All. Android 11 rom isn't maintained for my phone anymore. I wonder how fast arrowos drops support for their roms? Don't want to flash new Android version every year to be honest ;)

Yep, same problem here, pretty disappointing.
Additionally, I miss a good camera on non-stock ROM. GCam just doesn't cut it.
Very time consuming all of this.

I've switched back to stock ROM.

I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro with ArrowOS A11, unmodified and TWRP 3.6.0. I received a message from Google that I am missing security updates. The last security update I have is 5 February 2022.

  • Can I install the security updates myself and if so, how?
  • Alternatively I could install ArrowOS A12.1 but I am not sure how to do this if TWRP is not compatible with A12.
Could I install A12.1 by doing the following?
- boot to TWRP
- wipe cache/system/data
- flash Arrow-v12.1-sweet-OFFICIAL-20220624-GAPPS.zip
- boot to TWRP again
- do a factory reset
- reboot to system ... and setup the new android 12 system

If not, is there some other way of doing it?
Thanks.

It's strange that there are no more security updates for Android 11 ROM, as the phone is quite new and support seems to be dropped too early. Especially knowing that one can't update to ArrowOS Android 12 without a need to flash a new ROM and setup the phone again, from scratch.

I guess it's the best to avoid Xiaomi phones in the future and purchase phones with "clean-ish" Android supported by producer.

If you're rooted, backup your apps and settings with alpha backup pro to micro sd, backup your internal storage with mixplorer as zip archive to micro sd, flash Android 12 (recommend lineage 19L) root with magisks canary 25.1 and restore all backups....
It takes a maximum of 2 hours and you'll be happy....

Well, as some of you already saw, new build, with the following changelog:
    - Switched to the Pixel Power HAL (libperfmgr)
    - Improved idle drain
    - Fixed headphone buttons
    - Fixed yellow tint and improved display colors
    - Added WiFi Display support
    - Reworked the lights service
    - Moved device specific settings into the settings homepage
    - Reserved 250MB of space in each dynamic partition for installing addons
    - Set default DPI to 392
    - Reduced bootanimation start delay
    10
Just to let you all know, if the device has more than 100 installations in last 24 hours (check at stats.arrowos.net/recent), it will have automatic builds each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those automatic builds are safe to flash even if I don't announce them (I only announce if they have device side changes), unless told otherwise.
    10
New build available with the following changelog:
    • Improved cutout ring rotation changes handling
    • Fixed cutout aliasing (by showing the cutout ring always, but smaller when camera is not in use)
    • Switched to Pixel offline charging animation
    • Increased status bar height (now icons are vertically aligned with the cutout)
    • Moved the device specific settings to system settings category
    • Removed more unused files in the vendor
    • Fixed KCAL out of the box (once again (might need a clean flash))
    • Merged the tag LA.UM.9.1.r1-10900-SMxxx0.0 into the kernel
    • Updated blobs from MIUI V12.5.6.0 RKFMIXM
    10
New build pushed with the following changes:
    - Updated blobs from MIUI 12.0.15.0 Global
    - Fixed infrarred blaster
    - Cleaned up vendor (reduced zip size 100MB~)

If someone had bootloops and rolled back to the previous build, this build should be good to flash now, I missed a thing in previous build which could cause bootloops on some cases, sorry for that :/.
