Wipe system, vendor and cache partitions from TWRP or OrangeFox, flash ROM zip and then flash the latest Magisk zip file available. You should always download Magisk from its original source, topjohnwu's GitHub ( Link ).So I updated to the release today from an April release, dirty flash. All good but Masgisk wasnt't working.
Uninstalled magisk app and then rebooted into recovery (OrangeFox) and flashed MagiskR.
Now when I reboot into system, its stuck at at the glowing Arrow OS sign at the begining.
I went back into recovery and dirty flashed Arrow again and yet still the same
I thought it would be as easy as:
First flash magiskR then reboot to system.
and again go recovery and flash magisk 21.1
and reboot to system. and enjoy
Any advice please? I really dont want to wipe everything and start over
Scrap that. I'm just wiping everything and doing a clean install. However, could anyone please help with how I get Magisk working properly after a clean install. ? Thanks
Definitely download latest official version. I think MagiskR was an early version of magisk that targeted very early AOSP tagThanks.
In the meantime, after a clean install, I flashed a MagiskR.zip in recovery. I cant remember where I got the file from but it was on my SDCard already.
After doing so, I check the phone, Magisk Manager is installed (attached). But checking Root Verify, phone isnt rooted.,
I'm not sure on what to do next ? I went down the MasgiskR path but do I just ignore that and proceed to download Magisk.zip from the original source and then flash that in Recovery ?
For anyone that has the same issue.
Download F-Droid and install.
